it's because i work in retail. seriously. when you go shoppin ALWAYS be nice to the clerks. lol it ruins my whole day when someone is shitty to me.

Girl you don't need to tell me twice! I work in retail too.

I don't ring registers, but I work in a clothing store fitting room, push return racks on the floor and clean up after customers when they decide it's OKAY to leave shit all over the floor instead of hanging it back up.

People are so rude to retail workers, it's awful.
I've had customers who've literally made me cry on more than one occasion.

aww girl :hug: i feel you! the customer today was totally rude and her remarks were sooo uncalled for!

i work at gymboree which is a childrens clothing store (http://www.gymboree.com) it is kind of higher end and a little expensive so we get people in there who think we have to kiss their asses because they're going to spend $24.99 on a sweater their child will wear once before they grow out of it.

anyways, i work in an outlet mall in a really small town so we are VERY slow during the winter months until after thanksgiving, so today we were DEAD. this woman came in with a screaming child and a destructive one who was throwing shit everywhere. i asked her if i could help her find anything and she said she was just looking. so when she was looking at coats that were 50% off i didnt think anything about it. she asked me if we had a 2T. I thought she had looked through all of them and i told her everything we had in the coat was out because it was clearance. well then she got super snotty and was like 'well thank you for the WONDERFUL service.' and stormed towards the door. her daughter was like mommy why are you mad? and the lady was like 'because i thought i was in a store where the sales associates werent LAZY and just STARE at you while you STRUGGLE to find your size! i will take my business to childrens place where im APPRECIATED!' i was like woooah wtf lady!? after she left. if i was staring its because i hadnt had a customer for 2 hours besides her and was bored out of my MIND! :bugeyed

but needless to say she was throwing her tantrum while another customer was walking in so i was completely mortified. :(

What a snob.

I tend to get customers who seem to think it's my job to be their personal shopper. They're all "I want a red turtleneck with 3/4 length sleeves and it must be this long and it must be this exact hue of red and it must be a size 2 and it must be a designer brand - OKAY GO FIND IT FOR ME NOW SLAVE"
