haha that is funny!!!
actually i saw this movie a few days ago, and i knew it would be in bad taste but even i was shocked lol but i think the thing with latoya is okay, nothing offensive there i don't think. but it was good of SBC to not include it in the movie out of respect.

lol i'm sure he was just kidding
sounded like he was just randomly saying numbers in german to me

I thought that was stupid and tasteless and Latoya has a lot of patience, the same kind of patience Michael had

can someone just give a brief description of what happens? :)
I dont know if I want to watch it just now...

guys....I read somewhere that this was staged and La Toya was merley acting.... so I wouldn't worry too much. On a side note, this film is fuckin quality as is his previous movies.:punk:

La Toya is excited to be wined and dined by "Bruno," actually Baron-Cohen, the filmmaker. She believes he is a famous fashion designer interviewing her for television. At "Bruno"s invitation, she is happily SEATED LITERALLY ON THE BACK OF A MEXICAN LABORER in blue jeans, as he crouches on his hands and knees. They merrily chat and look forward to their lunch.

If she discussed with the man what he thinks about her sitting on his back, it's not shown.

Baron-Cohen uses satire to reveal the inhumanity and self-absorption of our culture.

But wait, there's more.

Lunch is served... along the naked body of yet another Mexican laborer. She does not speak to the man, but squeals and reaches out to lift a delicacy off his hairy back.

She's obviously utterly delighted with the whole scene.

She was not acting, and is humiliated by this.

lol .. kinda stupid but kinda funny at the same time ..

I doubt that this was staged. Sacha Baron Cohen punks people like this so he can get a raw reaction. He has done it to politicians as well. That's how he rolls. When they pulled it from the movie they said it was a prank and I believe it because everything he does is a prank and if he does it to major stars and politicians he would certainly do it to a C-list celebrity.

But all in all Latoya handled it well.

i have to say compared to most people he punks, pranks whatever she handled it the best in the most mannered way. i wouldn't even let him hold my phone.

I think that was scripted somewhat .. La Toya was sitting on someone in front of a naked man covered in food.. she must have known what was happening. Shes cute giggling like that :)

Ron Paul comes to mind. I think if I remember it correctly Paul though he was coming for an interview, but then Sacha started to undress in the room.

Yeah, he doesn't do scripted stuff as far as I know. He even interviewed a real terrorist. Its worth a watch on Youtube...

Goodness, am I really the only person here who thinks La Toya demonstrated a shockingly vain and self-absorbed disrespect for her fellow human beings, SITTING ON HUMAN BEINGS AND EATING OFF THEM as if they're inanimate FURNITURE? Is it classy to use Mexican laborers in California this way now? She should be utterly ashamed. That was the point of the clip; Sacha is exposing how vanity can run so high in show business that it destroys basic humanity. Please take a look at this from a fresh perspective. I used to defend La Toya, but no longer.

Yeh. Thats why I think she was told what was happening and was acting.

That would make this SINGLE scene completely unlike any scene he shot either in this film or in Borat. Highly unlikely. (Pamela Anderson was in on the joke in Borat, so she WAS acting). All were unscripted pranks on the participants, as Sacha has stated clearly in interviews. He's been sued repeatedly by the participants who have been massively embarrassed, but wins because he's had them sign waivers first. So that would be unlikely. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacha_Baron_Cohen which explains all this.

Since everyone knows this is the nature of Sacha's films, why in the world would La Toya pretend to be horrible, knowing everyone would assume she wasn't acting and think she really IS horrible? That would make no sense.

it's just a matter of time before this guy gets his ass kicked by someone for his "pranks"

I think he's a creative force for change, in the tradition of satirists who have exposed society's underbelly since the Greeks and Romans. A Jonathan Swift, Mark Twain, George Carlin... We need people like this to help us learn about ourselves. We need to get shaken up a bit, have our boat rocked...

But I agree, it's just a matter of time before he gets his ass kicked!:)

OUT OF TOPIC:

Barney is my favourite kids show. I grew up watching Barney. And i just popped in one of my old dvd`s yesterday and started watching it again. And then i saw Baby bop. Instantly Baby bop reminded me of latoya jackson. And i laughed soo hard. Take a look at it :

Here's an insightful review of "Bruno" in the Guardian:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2009/jun/17/bruno-review-sacha-baron-cohen
...And again, he lures the unsuspecting into shameful acts - getting Latoya Jackson to eat sushi off a naked Mexican gardener, for example (a scene later cut when Latoya's brother Michael died), or gaining showbiz moms' consent to dress their children as Nazis.

Beneath the idiocy, Baron Cohen is also a politically astute agent who's devised an ingenious way to confront and expose serious social issues - and indulge his own exhibitionism...
