Las Vegas Plans Tribute Concert For Michael Jackson’s Birthday

Michael didn't want to do a reunion tour in life with his brothers. Now in death, they are finally able to make the money they crave without fearing a backlash from people wanting to see michael.

Damn it.

EDIT: By the way, thats in response to Jermaine's meeting.

How do you know he didn't want to do a reunion tour with his brothers?

how about a huge large screening of his concerts and videos wit ultimate surround sound, and a bangin dj. that way we dont have to listen 2 pple butcher his music lol

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. You want see me at no tribute concert. If It's not Mike on stage then I don't want it. It want do nothing but piss off even more.

Trust me I am already pissed enough.

Just to add a note.

I'm glad the proceeds are going to a good cause, but emotionally I am not ready to see anyone perform his music.

I never got a chance to see him in tour and it is one of my greatest regrets. So seeing someone else perform his song is like a taken a stake in the heart.

So forgive me, but this is how I feel about it.

Hi guys,

This is Erich Bergen, producer of the Michael Jackson Las Vegas Tribute Concert. I'm quoted in the article that came out today.

I want you to guys to know that I have been an MJ fan since day 1. A die hard, just like all of you. I was one of the first members of the MJIFC back in 1995, I subscribed to KING Magazine, I was outside the Beacon Theater when Michael fainted, etc... I've been lucky enough in my life to do what I always wanted to do and what MJ inspired me to do, which is to be a professional entertainer. I currently star in the musical Jersey Boys at the Palazzo in Las Vegas and I've used my place in this town to honor the man that got me here. That's all. No one is making a dime off this concert. We are not attached to AEG, and no one is taking a salary. The PALMS has donated everything from their staff and crew, to the entire Pearl Concert Theater. Every single penny raised from ticket sales will go to Music Education in Public Schools.

If you can be here for the concert, please come. Only 2200 seats are available. Tickets will go on sale shortly, and the roster of performers will blow your mind. Stay tuned to www.vegaslovesmj.com and our Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/vegaslovesmj

Keep Michaeling.

Thanks for this, I'm only a couple of hours away in Los Angeles. I just may very well attend. :clapping:

You know everyone on here saying "oh great butchering his songs" etc. should be ashamed of themselves these people are doing a great thing by raising money for charities and keeping his legacy going. When MJ was alive you all wanted special events like this and was so excited everytime MJ was played wether it be on the radio or by someone covering his music. Now he's dead and how dare someone sing his song or raise money.... imagine what MJ would say if he only knew someone performing his song would raise money for a charity?????

Totally feel you, however you can't satisfy the "un-satisfiable", yanno? Most folks thats on these "ranting tangents" are either too far away and can't attend or they simply don't want to come to terms that MJ is gone and there will be OR IS no more "him" period. So don't waste your time arguing back and forth. It'll only piss you off further.... :better:

Hey Ja' *wavy* :)

MJ fans should just be happy that people feel the need to do MJ tributes and benefit concerts in the first place. Nothing will come close to seeing MJ himself on stage, and we probably all agree he deserved more respect in live, BUT be thankful that he is being appreciated now. Better late than never IMO.

This just bothers me. I guess it shouldn't but it does.

It does me too, because in my eyes... there is no Jackson 5 if there is no Michael! Michael was the Jackson 5. Will the brothers just remain seated. I love them, but their spark is seemingly gone.

I guess being some nostagia group without the nostalgia itself is tacky and lame in my opinion. I would totally support the brothers performing as the Jackson 5 or The Jacksons with a moving onward vibe. New music, new, new, new. Stop living in the past and sponging off of their success with Michael, because Michael can't make them any more than he already had.

A medley of the old hits with MJ during concerts and performances just like Mike did, but keep producing great music with the times. I think they should always pay tribute to and honor Mike though. He was and always will be their guiding force. They should do an original song tribute in their late brothers honor. That would be sweet.

Nice to see a tribute is being held in the US...

Were attending one in europe (Holland) on his birthday as well...

Farewell My Summer Love
Give In To Me
They Don't Care About Us
PYT
Someone In The Dark

Get ready for an amazing show!

Thanks for giving us the 'head's up'. Ya know, at this point, I think anyone who pays tribute to this man is shedding a light on many fan's broken hearts. Anything to keep up the hope that was so quickly and senselessly taken away from them. There will only be more to come throught the years, so be accepting of it and proud....Michael would be honored.

It looks like a fantastic show, and the proceed's going to charity....that says it all. Wish I could attend.

Keep the dream alive for all of us. We need inspiration now more than ever.
