i read some where that kids are going to speak at private memorial in gary ,if it is true then i don't think kids are going to get their privacy.SMH

I haven't heard about it, but if that's true, probably it's their own decision... After all, it was Paris' decision to speak at the Memorial last year. No one expected her to, but she went out there and said those beautiful words about her father....

MJ was not a snob. He had great empathy for places like GARY. He was damn proud of his birth home, under-developed or not.

I don't know exactly why but I get a feeling they're going there for a purpose. I'm wondering where that Voiceplate thing is being held on the 26th?

I hope they get to spend the day however they want to.

EDIT: Nevermind, just saw its in Beverley Hills.
 
Will the fans still be able to go to Forest Lawn if the family isn't there though?
 
I think they will. Forest Lawn never said the fans would not be allowed.

I read somewhere that the security guards complained some months ago and they were not going to let the fans in anymore after the complaint, and that's why randy ask forest lawn to allow fans in.
 
They have said that people are allowed the same as before but cannot hang out, play music, etc like they were.

Things are lost sometimes in the translation. Randy getting FL to allow fans "in". They've always been allowed "in" Forest Lawn with some recent restrictions in r/t the actual terrace outside the door to the mausoleum. To me it sounds like there are still people interpreting what Randy has said to mean fans will now be allowed "into" the mausoleum itself, and Michael's crypt. Perhaps I am completely off base here, but FL allowing fans "into" the mausoleum on the 25th still seems highly unlikely, imo. Without a massive plan in place, that would be complete chaos, not even touching on the subject of the other deceased laid to rest within Holly Terrace, specifically near Michael's crypt.

Basically, little has changed it seems, just a little more restriction on fans on the terrace and at the door of the mausoleum. jmo.
 
I appriciate the fact she wants to get them out of LA because of the chaos and the glare of the media but by making it public it is going to have the opposite affect because its just going to draw much unwanted attention.
If she had the kids best interests at heart she wouldnt have said anything

Randy was misleading the fans. The fans were always allowed in the cemetery. They just haven't been alllowed inside the building. And nothing changed.

I totally agree with you. Having this info splashed all over the place is going to attract attention to the exact place they say they are going to be. I really wonder if they're actually going to be there. I can see why they'd want to go, but if they're wanting privacy, I don't see how they're going to get it now.

I hope that, whatever they end up doing, that they get the peace they deserve on this very difficult day.:angel:
 
Wow, some of these remarks about Gary are misguided. Los Angeles did not create Michael Jackson; he is the fruit (but not only that) of a long musical and dance tradition of the industrial north. It is like the difference between Liverpool and London for the Beatles, or Memphis and LA for Elvis.

The Chicago Soul Sound arose from its place as the center of black gospel music: heavy on the vocal harmonies. Michael's earliest influences were music and dance peers in Indiana and Chicago, of whom there were many, James Brown, Jackie Wilson (on a Chicago label) and later, Motown. He was performing when he was 3 years old. His first influences remained his most profound ones. Not that he didn't add on.

His blackness is essential to his music; all American popular music has the South as its basis. That music came from the South to the northern Midwest. Manhattan and LA didn't have jack to do with its creation.

Let's hope we never lose these authentic places of real creativity. They are the places people come from to NY or LA.

As to his not being buried there, there is nothing wrong with visiting the place where a person is born either. It is perhaps more inspiring. I find the strangest place to visit is Neverland myself, but that's just me.

Mjrulesdaworld I think you should hone up on your MJ history before you speak for him in this matter.
We know Mjs character and he wouldntr jusge a place on those meriits_ he loved many underdevoped places
on this earth and had he a connention and empathy for those places (Im not saying Gary is underdeveloped )
just trying to get a point across of what is important in the heart of this man. He didnt judge by your standards

There are plenty of videos and articles about Michael's visit to Gary IN
and his plan to help create a performing arts museum thier _ named after him.

There are many many videos of his visit and his feeling about his home town
if you care to watch _ just search on youtube or google "Michael Jackson visits Gary Indiana"

His children were not part of either specticle _ It was very wise to keep them away from both
events which were heavily coveredand scrutenised by the FANS and by the media.

from reading the new posters posts they are obviously a troll with alot of time on the hands. just report their posts and get rid of them as i dont know why mods arent spotting this all so obvious poster
