Michael Jackson To Thrill With Tour?
By Rachel Webster
on June 20, 2008 3:00 PM
People are talking about Michael Jackson, and it’s not because of a scandal at Neverland Ranch. The new word is Jackson may be planning a tour, backed by producer/rapper Swizz Beatz.
“I'm working on this new Michael Jackson sh--," Swizz told MTV.com. "I'm probably gonna be producing his tour and everything.”

MJ has not released a statement about the rumored tour, nor have any dates been released. Thriller 25th Anniversary, Jackson's last album, was released in February of this year by MJJ productions.

The last time Jackson toured was more than 10 years ago during the aptly named HIStory Tour, divided into two legs running from September 1996 to October 1997. The HIStory Tour included 82 shows in 58 cities in 35 countries.

Britain’s got talent Signature to perform with Michael Jackson
Dance duo Madhu Singh and Suleman Mirza, who are Signature, were the runners up from this year’s Britain’s Got Talent. The pair has now had to put their day jobs on hold; Mirza was a trainee solicitor while Singh worked for PC World. The pair has worked hard on their dance act, and it seems that Britain’s Got Talent has giving them a huge boost.

A few people have now approached Signature; Virgin Media are thought to have offered them a six-figure sum for their Bollywood service. The pair is also in talks with a major retailer for a TV advertising campaign; they have also been booked to perform at a number of corporate events, four of which are being held in Dubai.

Singh and Mirza are most exited about being approached by associates of Michael Jackson. We all know that The King of Pop is planning a world tour at the end of the year, and it looks as though Signature might get to perform with their hero. Madhu has said “’So many young people have come up and said “I voted for you”, and it is even more rewarding when the older people say it. This is like a dream come true and anything more that happens will be a bonus.” Suleman, followed up by saying “It would be incredible if we got to work with Michael Jackson. We got a text from one of his friends which said: “Michael Jackson is aware of you and is looking forward to working with you in the future.”

Batter up! Catfish frying at Pierre's new place
By Hector Gutierrez, Rocky Mountain News (Contact)
Originally published 11:41 a.m., June 20, 2008

Lawrence Pierre thought he’d fried his last catfish after closing his namesake supper club in North Capitol Hill five years ago.

But now at 84 years old, he’s trying to reel in loyal Louisiana soul food customers to a new locale a few miles east.

Pierre’s back in the eatery business again, in the Skyland neighborhood, a couple of blocks north of the City Park Municipal Golf Course. A small red-and-yellow sign now sits in the 3400 block of East 28th Avenue: “Pierre’s Now Open.”

The new name: Pierre’s on Madison.

Pierre got rid of his historic club at 2157 Downing St. after 40 years of serving patrons who included Michael Jackson, the late attorney Johnnie Cochran Jr. and former NBA star Scottie Pippen. He leased the building to others, letting them use his name to continue the eatery, but that venture was short-lived. Meanwhile, Pierre decided to travel a little more and take up a new venture.

The mellow 'Heart Songs' has a light hip-pop feel to it and could be easily adapted to fit the needs of a boy band or pop singer. Another classic Cuomo moment, the lyrics serve as a bio of Cuomo's musical journey from listening to Springsteen, Stevens and Joan Baez as a boy before moving onto Metallica, Judas Priest and Michael Jackson right up until the recording of Weezer's debut. It's a great song and another future single.

There's Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding and now ... Ryan Shaw.

Ryan who?

This year, neo-soul belter Shaw was nominated for -- but didn't win -- a Grammy in the category of Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for his single, I Am Your Man, from the album This is Ryan Shaw. The song is an Ashford and Simpson composition recorded by The Four Tops in 1972. Shaw's powerful, vocally elastic version -- backed by lush strings and background vocals -- retains all the hallmarks of early '70s soul.

Elsewhere on This is Ryan Shaw, the gifted singer tips his hat to the Jackson 5, Junior Walker, Michael Jackson, Jackie Wilson, Bobby Womack and other soul greats. The album mixes original compositions with obscure fare originally recorded by famous artists.

"I just do music I like, whether it's from 1968 or something I like today, or tomorrow," said Shaw, 27, speaking as he drove to a gig in his adopted home of New York City.

A slightly different collaboration is the teaming of Fall Out Boy and John Mayer for a cover of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It.” This track doesn’t feature both acts singing; instead Mayer accompanies the guys on guitar, rocking it up for their version Wentz said might make Michael “roll in his non-existent grave.” Wentz added it was as easy as asking Mayer if he’d want to take part before the track was created. Though not on any Fall Out Boy or Mayer album, you can hear it on the band’s live DVD, “****: Live in Phoenix.”

Let the music play!

Chonmipem Horam

`Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent`- Victor Hugo

....

The good, the bad and the ugly

Music is an important form of communication. It’s a reflection of society in a particular time and place. Music needs no boundaries, it bonds us irrespective of who we are, and where are we from. Not only it’s a source of entertainment but it also acts as a medium to convey messages, of how things are, and what lies ahead in the future. Michael Jackson`s song `Heal the world’ sounds beautiful as well as inspiring as it echoes noble thoughts.

There`s A Place In
Your Heart, And I Know That It Is Love, And This Place Could
Be Much Brighter Than Tomorrow, And If You Really Try
You`ll Find There`s No Need
To Cry,In This Place You`ll Feel
There`s No Hurt Or Sorrow

There Are Ways To Get There
If You Care Enough For The Living
Make A Little Space, Make A Better Place...

Heal The World,
Make It A Better Place, For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying, If You Care Enough
For The Living, Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

If You Want To Know Why
There`s A Love That Cannot Lie
Love Is Strong, It Only Cares For
Joyful Giving
If We Try, We Shall See
In This Bliss
We Cannot Feel, Fear Or Dread
We Stop Existing And Start Living

Then It Feels That Always
Love`s Enough For Us Growing
So Make A Better World
Make A Better World...

And The Dream We Were
Conceived In, Will Reveal A Joyful Face
And The World We Once Believed In
Will Shine Again In Grace
Then Why Do We Keep Strangling Life
Wound This Earth, Crucify Its Soul
Though It`s Plain To See, This World Is Heavenly
Be God`s Glow

We Could Fly So High
Let Our Spirits Never Die
In My Heart, I Feel You Are All
My Brothers
Create A World With No Fear
Together We`ll Cry Happy Tears
See The Nations Turn their Swords
Into Plowshares

We Could Really Get There
If You Cared Enough for The Living
Make A Little Space,
To Make A Better Place...
You And For Me

Music also grants us the freedom of expression. Like in late 1980`s and 90`s, young black Americans coming out of the Civil Rights Movement used this to show the limitation of the movement. It used Hip-hop to voice their issues. It lets them the world to be noticed.

As we drove into the town centre, I was starting to get my bearings. We went past Charnwood Music, where Mum had signed me up to illfated guitar lessons with a man named Roger.

We fell out when it became clear he was teaching me Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, rather than Michael Jackson's Thriller.

The cover of the epic Michael Jackson track released by Alien Ant Farm in 2001 is easily the band's biggest hit. In fact, when this track was released, it hit #1 on the U.S. Modern Rock charts.

Usher's got it bad -- slashes price on Atlanta Home
by Zac Bissonnette Jun 20th 2008 @ 3:45PM

Even celebrities and Michael Jackson impersonators aren't immune to the rough housing market. Usher's Atlanta home was listed at $2.3 million back in September but, with limited signs of interest, he has now cut the price to just under $2 million.

Re: June 20-21,2008

Chris Rock funny?

Chris Rock is a LOSER.

Just like that idiot Kat Stevens. Every time I hear them talking about Michael - they pick a line they keep repeating - like - HELL NO MICHAEL! WHAT'S WRONG WITH MICHAEL!

No offense but I hate that type of stupid American humor (not that I hate all American humor, but that type I hate) - with stupid comedians and even stupider audience who basically laugh to anything, in order not to be considered stupid for not getting the joke.
Don't you mean Katt Williams..? If so, I totally agree with you. Can't belive I used to think that guy was funny. Some of the things he said about Michael is just cold blooded
harassment. That's not humor at all.

Thanks Enrico for the head start on the news thread again. :)

Here are some more mentionings I found:

"These bands have shown a tremendous amount of effort and dedication. Launchpad provides a platform for great learning and experience they can take wherever they go," said Robert Kase, WFSM executive director.

This year's finalist bands will experience a touch of fame with the opportunity to learn from acclaimed Yamaha recording artists in the first-ever Launchpad Music Clinics held just hours ahead of the competition. Drummer Ndugu Chancler, who provided the beat for "Billie Jean" on Michael Jackson's Thriller album and has also recorded and toured with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Santana and Kenny Rogers, will lead a drum clinic beginning at 12:30 p.m. Bassist Nathan East, who co-wrote the number one hit song "Easy Lover" with Phil Collins and Philip Bailey, and has recorded, written and performed songs with artists such as Eric Clapton, Elton John and Whitney Houston, will conduct a bass clinic beginning at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited to observe these clinics and can do so by simply purchasing a ticket to the Launchpad finals competition (see ticket info below). Both artists will also be part of the judging panel for the competition.

Our greatest challenge during our time with the Croatians was noise. The resident DJ's mishmash of Michael Jackson, rock classics and dodgy Adriatic punk made hearing the studio let along myself almost impossible.

Combining funk, R&B, and pop elements on the song co-written by Carey, Fantasy debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1995, a career first for the singer and a record setting debut that is only shared with Michael Jackson whose “You Are Not Alone” pulled the same feat in August of 1995.

He was probably cringing because he was afraid he would get blamed for it.

Ronson showed porn to Michael Jackson
Saturday, June 21 2008, 22:02 BST

By Dave West, Media Correspondent

Mark Ronson tried to get Michael Jackson to watch porn during a childhood sleepover at the popstar's house.

"It's a weird story, but I didn't touch him," revealed the musician who, living in the US as a child, met Jackson through John Lennon's son, Sean.

"We just went and stayed at his house and it seemed okay at the time," he said. "I think it's still okay. Unless I'm going to be in therapy in four years' time!"

Ronson, in an interview for tomorrow's Sunday Night Project on Channel 4, added: "We were just hanging out, we used to watch the porn channel because we were like ten and, 'Oh my God, tits!'

"Me and Sean said 'Michael do you want to see something cool?' We turned the dial to the porn channel and there were strippers shaking their tits around. We were like, 'Michael, Michael how cool is this?'

"We turned around and he was cringing saying, 'Ooh stop it, stop it, ooh it's so silly.' He was not down with the program whatsoever. I think he just had really strong feminist views on porn and the use of it."

I saw that news article and it had "here comes trouble" all over it. Who is he anyway?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Ronson
Mark Daniel Ronson (born 4 September 1975)[2] is an Anglo-American, BRIT Award and three-time Grammy award[3]-winning music producer, cover-artist and co-founder of Allido Records. His debut album Here Comes the Fuzz, focused on American hip hop, included collaborations with Sean Paul, Nate Dogg and Ghostface Killah, yet it failed to make an impact on the charts.

His second album, Version focused on the British music scene, with covers of songs by the likes of Radiohead, Maxïmo Park, The Zutons and Kaiser Chiefs. The album includes three top ten hits and won Ronson a BRIT Award for Best Male Artist 2008. He is the first person to win a BRIT award who doesn't sing in the actual recording.

Yeah, I thought a bit before I posted it but it actually is positive. If anything it just further supports Michael's innocence so I think it is a good thing for people to see.

Re: June 20-21,2008

Yup until ne-yo got egotistical by putting who else but himself and on the countdown and at number 1....

Re: June 20-21,2008

^ he gota do it.. Promote himself.. :)

I'de do the same thing.. and I hope you would too.. lol!

Re: June 20-21,2008

But you can put yourself as a bonus video or something. He doesn't have to put himself in the countdown.

Re: June 20-21,2008

Mark Ronson is scarily obsessed with Michael.

Why do you say that? At least from the article it only sounded like he either answered a question or was telling a funny story. It is not negative at all. We all tell funny stories about incidents in our lives even when they don't involve Michael Jackson.
