Eddie Murphy: Delirious 25th Anniversary DVD Review
Remember when Eddie Murphy used to be funny?
Eddie Murphy. The name is very polarizing when you mention it these days, but there used to be a time when he was one of the all time comedic greats. The man had a great run on Saturday Night Live, and then began to get back into stand-up. Delirious was his first big stand-up comedy special, and it aired on HBO in 1983. The world took notice of the man's ability to make a packed stadium seating audience laugh, and Eddie Murphy quickly became the guy for comedy in the eighties. Immediately following the release of this special, Murphy would go on to star in Beverly Hills Cop (1984).
Murphy also gets his digs in on anyone, in an attempt to mock and honor at the same time. James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Jackie Gleeson, Ricky Ricardo, and even Michael Jackson. Sure, a Michael joke is easy to make now, but back then all Eddie had to work with was MJ's girly voice. He does a spot-on impression, and actually sings like the man. His impressions are also really good and only enhance the special.

JARVIS COCKER - JARVIS COCKER'S JACKSON REGRET
Jarvis Cocker says he regrets protesting against Michael Jackson at the 1996 BRIT Awards because it took too much attention away from his music.
Jarvis Cocker regrets his Michael Jackson protest.
The former Pulp singer says he was uncomfortable with the attention he attracted when he invaded the stage during the 'Thriller' star's performance of 'Earth Song' at the 1996 BRIT Awards because it stopped people focussing on his music.
He told Spin magazine: "That one action transported me to a kind of tabloid fame, which I couldn't have imagined. My whole set of values had nothing to do with that kind of tabloidy thing. It took me a long time to work through.
"I just pushed it too far with that thing, because it wasn't, 'Jarvis Cocker played an amazing song at the BRIT Awards last night'. It was, 'Jarvis Cocker t**ted about at the BRIT Awards last night'.
"I had been in a band 15 years, and in 15 seconds, I became more well known. All that bloody work! Thrown away!"
