Jermaine Plans to Meet with Obama to Request Monument form Michael

Please, Obama couldn't even acknowledge Michael's passing. In my opinion, he hesitated and "probably" needed to be pushed by his people to say a FEW words in order to appease some folks.

I don't see him meeting with Jermaine, VP-Biden couldn't even be bothered to stop by the event and he was right in the neighborhood, and I certainly don't see Obama spearheading a monument for Michael. I mean, you know homeboy ain't trying to upset what's left of his base.
very true

As nice as it would be I just cannot see it happening. Monuments take a long time as it has to go through so many committees etc. I think the best we can hope for is a statue of Michael somewhere, like the one of Charlie Chaplin they have in Leicester Square.

Guys, on the 28th of August 1963 Martin Luther King gave his famous speach "I have a dream " for equal rights and against racism. It took place near the monument to Washington in DC Washington. Our Michael is a great humanitarian and he also had a dream that all people are equal and have their rights to live , to love ,to be proud of their race.

Michael's birthday is on the 28th of August.Maybe Jermaine wants to arrange a great event , a real celebration of freedom in Michael's honor at the same place and that's why there is a talk about monument.

Just a thought.

Wrong his birthday is on the 29th

If he wants any chance of success he should meet up with Bill Clinton!!!!!!!

He always liked Michael!!!!!!!

I am not going to add anything new, but I do want to add my thoughts.

Obama did lose me with his response to Michael's death - because it seemed cowardly and I felt it was indicative of how he would respond to other things. The contribution that Michael made to culture and to mankind deserved more than that mealy-mouthed 'statement' that we got. But whatever.

There is alot on Mr Obama's plate and arranging for a monument for such a divisive and polarizing figure in popular culture is certainly not something even REMOTELY on his agenda. Let's keep it real here.
