America's capital, Washington D.C., is full of breathtaking landmarks, monuments and memorials; now, at least one person wants to give it a thriller.

Jermaine Jackson was snapped outside of a swanky restaurant in the District on Wednesday, and cameramen asked the brother of the late King of Pop about a possible meeting with President Barack Obama.

When asked what the purpose of the meeting would be, Jermaine, 55, said he was going to see about getting "a monument for Michael" erected.

The Beat It singer wasn't the only tabloid mainstay photogs peppered Jermaine with questions about: When asked if he had any advice for troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan, Jermaine replied, "We're praying for her."

So, it is not clear to me. Is Jermaine going to meet with President Obama tomorrow; or is he just requesting to meet with Obama?

JERMAINE is out of line. few PRESIDENTS have monuments. Love MJ, but don't think it is appropriate.
 
Jermaine a'int getting nowhere near to President Obama and I wish they would watch what they say to the media.
 
sounds like he said 'is that true?' then they confirmed it, and so he seemed to confirm it after they did. strange
 
I hope this means the Jackson Family is now going to begin to help
carry out one of the mandates in Michael's Trust, which is
that at least some of his money should be spent on
"Two Children's Charities".
 
This is great news if it's done!!! The only thing Michael ever wanted to do was spread peace and love, and bring the world together. And he had so much reverence for all mankind, even those we would usually look down upon.

And not only that, but he has always stood strong in his political views.

Any Michael Jackson fan who would oppose this, are you a fan? Or do you just not know how hard Micahel tried to make ALL NATIONS a better place, not just America.

If Jermaine makes this request, he should come forth with every political and worldwide contribution Michael has done, from the speeches of human rights, to the messages in his lyrics etc.

President Obama ain't too good to meet with Jermaine. While on this planet Earth, Jermaine's brother, Michael Jackson, brought more love, hope,
and peace to the people of this planet than President Obama ever has.

Why should the Jackson family carry out the mandates of the trust. They are not the executors.
 
Don't you think this is just a little bit ego driven? The presdident of the United States is not going to met with you for such a thing. And he should not as much as we all love Michael no way in hell should goverment funds be spent on a momument for Michael. This is totaly ego driven. That is of course if this is true.
 
Well personally, I feel Obama shoud have acknowledged Michael's passing more significantly.
 
yup meet him ,same president who took his own sweet time to acknowledged Michael's passing after tasting which way wind is blowing.

I have to say this is not the time for Jermaine to be doing this. Obama has more important things to worry about then getting a statue of MJ up.

Michael was a great humanitarian, but there were alot of other great ones too. They don't have a monument themselves. Why should Michael?

2 many things of more importance for Washington to worry about.

Just my 2 cents.
 
As much as it would be nice for it to happen, but i dont think Mr obama will do it.

Michael Jackson deserves this. He is the King of Music and the greatest Humanitarian. No other celeb can compare. President Obama can appoint others in the chain of command to get this accomplished.
 
i read on jermaine's wife twiiter that he's in D.C. performing for michelle obama

and He was crucified by the world. Michael Jackson represents peace and L.O.V.E. He deserved this more than anyone in this world.

Exactly. Michael brought the world together, the whole world through music from all demographics and countries, even in the most remote places on earth. This was a black man. His message was always about love and healing the planet. Please provide an example of someone else who has reached more people on this earth?

Michael Jackson is so famous. You can't compare him. Of course he deserves this, even over others. Because others only reached so far, Michael reached the galaxy.
 
michael deserves this but obama will not be the one giving it to him and most certainly a monument on american ground is highly unlikely
 
As Obama looked forced into saying something about the death of Michael I hardly see him doing this for some reason :( Shame though cos something is needed to acknowledge Michael's contribution to the world.
 
Please, Obama couldn't even acknowledge Michael's passing. In my opinion, he hesitated and "probably" needed to be pushed by his people to say a FEW words in order to appease some folks.

I don't see him meeting with Jermaine, VP-Biden couldn't even be bothered to stop by the event and he was right in the neighborhood, and I certainly don't see Obama spearheading a monument for Michael. I mean, you know homeboy ain't trying to upset what's left of his base.
