the Osmonds and the Jacksons were friends ; they grew up together. Donny and MJ talked alot later throughout the years.

Donny & Mike were going to do a duet around 2004 for an album Donny was making, but the trial happened so nothing became of it.

Yes and Donny even invited MJ out to Donny's home in Utah to get away from LA and the poprazzi, etc.. He never flew out to Donny's home though.
& in fact on Dancing, Donny was told he & his dance partner have fans- MJ's kids. :yes:

The other day Stevie Wonder was on the show speaking about Donny. Stevie wasn't in the audience, but had been filmed by the show elsewhere. I didn't realize Donny & Stevie knew each other, although I did know that Donny is a big fan of Stevie and remade a few of Stevie's songs.

I loved Donny's reaction when he was told that he was the kids favorite. :)

I wish he had been able to visit Donny in Utah.

Aww I never knew that Michael's kids liked him best. Awww.
I wish Michael had taken Donny up on his offer to stay in Utah.
 
I voted for Mya! :( I like Donny though he is good people, but, Marie is always on E.T and next to Mary Hart who is friends with Diane Dimond or rather, work with the bitch on her show sooo.....yuck! Anyways I Knew the Jacksons were voting for Donny and there is to many of them as there is Osmonds, so no surprise he won! lol

A lot of the contestants did some type of dancing (including Donny), but ballroom is different. Kelly Osbourne did really well for someone who had no dance experience.
 
Mya was robbed last night. She was the best dancer and had the highest score from the judges. My stupid fellow Americans voted on popularity instead of performance.

I'm sorry guys, but last night's DWTS was just like the AMA's Artist of the Year nomination. :mat:
 
I shouldn't have come into this thread. I wanted to wait until Friday to find out who won. There needs to be a spoiler warning. I see my favorite won :) Anyway, I hope La Toya will dance on the show at some point.

I'm rewatching the final show and I got to say Donny and Kym final dance was not that spectacular, you could see the unsure expression on their faces, and even his sister Marie's when the camera panned out out to her.

But those judges did a nice job of pretty much lying in their exaggeration description of that last dance as being his best ever.

so rigged.
 
^^^The judges don't pick the winner (except when they have the non celebrity amatuer & youth dancers). Whoever gets the most call in votes from the public does. Overall, the judges gave Mya higher ratings than Donny & Kelly.

Why would you think it was rigged? What benefit would that provide them?

I don't like how the show is more of a popularity contest than a dance contest.

and ABC likely went to apeace their larger older demographic that were Donny Osmond fans who wanted to see him win regardless of how his performance was.

I see now why most award shows have viewer choice awards to separate the fan favorite from the legitimate winners.

No award show has legit winners. It's all bribes, popularity, and show business politics. It doesn't matter if the winners are picked by a committee instead of the public. Like movie studios spend money to pimp their films to Oscar voters. Many of the voters don't even watch some of the movies that are sent to them and they put up for nomination, just like Congress don't always read the laws and proposals that they come across and just blindly vote on them, or just approve or veto because some group is paying them to do so.

I highly doubt that's the case. They'd be in big trouble if it were so.
