Dubai: Jermaine Jackson, whose own attributes were often overlooked due to the phenomenal success of his brother Michael and sister Janet, is set to release his first solo album in 19 years, with several of the tracks having being recorded in Dubai.

Jackson told Gulf News that the album will have Middle Eastern and Asian influences while retaining its R & B core.

"I hope people will enjoy listening to my new songs just as much as I have enjoyed recording them," said Jackson, who was a surprise visitor to Meydan Racecourse on Thursday night.

"I've collaborated with musicians like Adnan Sami and Sonu Nigam on the album which will have a fair share of contemporary Middle Eastern and Asian rhythms. We hope to release the album this summer."

In the last 70s and early 80s Jermaine and his brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael were The Jackson 5, a pop-music phenomena that remains till now one of the most successful and best selling music bands of all times.

Is this album going to be in Hindi? LOL!
None of their songs have Middle Eastern influence, more like Indian. (though Sami is of Pakistani origin I believe)

Well, I think its good that he is trying to do something on this own,

and not spending his time trying to sabotage the estate or using the mj3 for his own money making schemes.

In a way, Jermaine IS working against the estate.

If he were any kind of man and father, he would be handling the "situation" regarding his ex-wife and his minor children's living arrangement and she wouldn't need to go after the Estate to handle a situation that Jermaine SHOULD be handling.

He's too busy working on his NON-existent career to worry about what's going on back at home. And that, in my opinion, is just shameful!

I second that but then again some here might argue that is trying to work in order to provide for them kid's he's conceived and dumped of at Hayvenhurst for nearly a decade.. dunno

Best of luck, Jermaine - you should never have stopped recording. I'll keep an eye out for it, although I'm not sure what to expect after such a long time out!
 
He's been famous since J5 and he's almost 60 with little or no fans. Who's gonna buy this?

Now here Jermaine is doing his own thing to make money and you still trash him.

In my opinion, the Jacksons are out of chances!

They have played themselves on too may occassions. The cloak has been lifted on that family and it ain't pretty.

Aside from the fact that Jermaine Jackson is a DEADBEAT DAD and no matter how you slice it, there is no excuse for a father who does not want to financially support the children he brought into this world!

I'm not talking about Jermaine as a person. I'm talking about his financial life: he is doing his own thing to make money rather than use Michael. Some people are just never happy.

So writing a book about Michael Jackson for financial gain is not using him. LOL!

Why can't Jermaine write a book about HIMSELF? He has had a colorful life, with all of the wives and children he left behind. Maybe because he knows that NOBODY is interested in his shabby life and that's why he is writing about his brother instead.

You say that he's doing his own thing in order to make money. If that's true, then why does he refuse to pay child support for his minor children?
