Ha ha ha I knew she couldn't be #1 on the major lists.

Oh well, congrats on having the #1 advice book Dunk.

And yes...that's your "36th" number one...but who's counting. lol

Can't blame a hustler... take comfort in all achievements.

OT: side eyes at George W Bush still being on the list after 4 months... damned repugs.

you were right Meme!!

You guys really need a new hobby because youre starting to come off as pathetic. I'm sure if Janet wrote an autobiography it would rank higher. George Bush book is more universal than janets. More are gonna read a book about the president and his views on things in the white house than a book about self esteem. Her rankings are an accomplishment because alot of books don't reach that far in rankings.

She's had more than 36 number ones actually, but like you said whose counting ??

Just because she's not #1 on the Major lists now doesn't mean she won't make it there anyway, she'll be doing a few book signings according to the publishers and each show will be selling the book, so I think its far from over for the book.

how is the advice and misc section less than a non fiction catogory, it's still a catogorty in the new york times and the new york times wouldn't have included it as a catogory if it was such a less of catogory. all the non fiction catogorty is autobiographies and bioagraphies, and since true is not autobiography it wouldn't be listed in that catograghy and the adivce and misc catogotry is just that non fiction books that aren't biographies.

Hmmmmm....FACTS ARE FACTS.

The original & most prestigious lists are FICTION AND NON FICTION (FACT)

The expanded lists..like children, advice & misc. are fairly recent and are not widely published in Sunday papers, unlike the two original lists.

I am not here to debate whether the advice& misc category is not as highly regarded as the Non fiction & Fiction categories.

it is like asking why a #1 Dance song isn't as highly regarded as the BB top 100 #1 single?

smdh

If it's not obvious to you...Google will still be your friend.

I think a #1 advice & misc is still good...but let's not pretend she has just won the Pulitzer.

Has this book come out in any other country besides the US? Will this book even be published anywhere else besides the States?

I swear some have nothing better to do then try to down other peoples accomplishments. Show me your receipts

yeah and how many years ago was that? there is obviously a reason whay there are more than two sections too that new york times. so if somebody writes a children books and it's listed under childen instead of "fiction" it's certaintly not going to take away the fact that it still made the new york times best selling lists or make it any less prestiage. bottomline and that all that needs to said she made it number 1 under what category her book is suppose to too,

True

Don't know about everywhere but it comes out in the UK at the end of April I think.

I'm sure it will be over there soon. She is touring over there in the summer

I received "True You" earlier this week. I read the whole book in one night. I had self-esteem and self-image issues growing up. I've gotten better in dealing with those issues and I'm still a work in progress. I still have my moments, but I am much stronger than before. What this book did for me was reassure that I wasn't alone in the world and that it is totally okay to be happy just the way I am. I admire Janet even more since reading this book. I didn't find any moment in the book dull or boring. If you are looking for inspiration or advice on your confidence and esteem, I'd definitely recommend it. I'm looking forward to trying the recipes as well.

FYI Janet's book falls under both Advice & Non fiction

One doesn't exclude the other.

no crap its' non fiction but the book is not a autobiography or biography, (which is what the New York times composses the non fiction list of) so it was put under the advice and mis section .

**Ywan**...really? Since when?

True you is also #5 on the Wall street Journal non fiction list. So your point....?

My last comment in this thread.

This back & forth is not necessary. Time better spent educating people on Howard Mann & Melissa Johnson. So enjoy "true you" ...

Thanks for the review

You're welcome! I think it's amazing that Janet's sharing her personal issues and experiences to try to help others who are going through their own issues. I really hope it inspires others as well as it inspired me. :)

I know I'm going to buy it but I'm not sure when

thanks so much for this!
it's good to have your comments.
I am interested in the book, but I don't know if I'll get it.
Hope it is not that expensive and hope it is in the UK soon.
It sounds worth reading.

What the heck guys  Just been through and deleted a load of posts. Surely we have more positive and constructive things to do than argue over a book list and position??
