Janet would consider remaking one of michael's songs

cool, I could imagine Janet singing something like I'll be There or "Be Not Always".
I would love to hear Janet do something off invincible aswell, I think Janet would do any MJ song justice :)
 
So what just because she is related to him that gives her the permission to butcher one of his songs? Why not let Latoya rape Michael's songs or Randy the list goes on and on. Michael's songs shouldn't be remade by anyone including his family. People should understand they are not doing themselves and their listeners any favors while remaking a Michael Jackson song. Janet should stick to whatever she is doing these days
 
I don't like covers of Michael's songs but I think it would be great if Janet did. That's her brother, she loves him.
 
tbh id rather not unless they can find a song that her voice can cope with .otherwise it will sound terrible.i guess it would be nice if it was done as a tribute but other than that its on dodgy ground

Not just because she is related to Michael. If you don't like her then its something else. I think she can sing not bad at all (compared to Latoya that you mentioned) and sometimes, I repeat SOMETIMES, her voice sounds similar to Michael..of course she is not in the same level as her brother but give her a little break.
 
this is the kind of thing where if this thread is posted, people should be allowed to give an opinion without being put on blast. after all, it's their own opinion.

for me...nobody should remake an MJ song. it has nothing to do with love, hate, relatives, talent, anything else.

i just feel that way, because.

i hated Mariah Carey's version of 'ill be there'. it lacked the life that MJ's version had. it didn't matter how well she could sing. and it felt like the radio stations were trying to send a message to me, when they refused to play MJ's version, but insisted on playing Mariah's version, but insisted on playing every other song in the motown vault, by the original artists. and i'm talkin about the contemporary stations, not the 'oldies' stations. i think the contemp ones were jealous of MJ.

Its different with Latoya and Randy, Janet would do the song justice, of course its not the original but if anyone does any cover of an MJ song I would want it to be Janet, to me shes the next best thing !
 
In general Iam not fan remake's it's just so not creative and just blah in general if she's just doing this as a tribute or something than that's fine I guess, but for real thou it can't get any worse than Ankon and Tpain remaking Michael's stuff lol

I wouldn't mind if she did but I'd prefer a mash up of MJ and Janet's "Rock With You" on tour or something ?
 
If she did, and she made the fans buy it, then it would be wrong. If anyone was to do it Id rather it be her than the likes of Chris Brown or Usher. Shes blood.
Can't think of a song Id like to hear from her tbh...

Maybe Whatever Happens. Would be good to be an unreleased song.

I'm with you on that one, I only like hold my hand because michaels on it, I've heard akons solo version and it was horrible. Is it just me or does he sound like hes holding his nose when hes singing :lol:
 
I personally don't care much. A remake of an MJ song won't make me buy the album (or the song) regardless of who the performer is.

I was just thinking of the pitiful performace Latoya gave of WBSS holy Lord.
Janet's voice is extremely week IMHO and no way would she be able to do justice to a MJ song. People who remake MJ songs make a fool out of themselves and since Janet is working so hard on rebuilding her career she shouldn't do it.
 
I would like it if she did a remake of michael's song.. When t-pain gets to do it? Why not Janet? Janet will do the song justice.. She's a GREAT singer and a GREAT performer, so i would like it.. Let's not underestimate her, she CAN sing!
 
I'm interested in this possibility. Her remake of Randy's "One More Chance" was pretty good. I hope Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis are involved if it happens. Janet's voice is so similar to Mike's, especially when you slow down the tempo on her songs lol.
 
I'm norways biggest Janet fan, I swear.
But..why do that? What's the point I mean?
Janet does best singing her own songs which she does brilliantly:D
so why not continue with that
 
I also think no one should remake any of Michael's songs. That's just the way it is for me, Michael sings his songs the best and they should stay that way.

BUT someone mentioned Be not always and that could be a song that fits well to Janet's voice I think. And I like Janet anyway so I wouldn't hate her if she did it.
