Totally desperate family.

Seeing Jackie's, Marlon's and Tito's names made me hope something nice would actually be planned, and could actually take place.. but.. this is beyond explainable.
 
It was live on CNN, with KJ, Tito, Toy, Jackie, Marlon, and the representatives from Global Live. The event was presented by the people from GL as "the first event approved by the Jackson family".

It's confirmed for october 8th, in the millenium stadium in Cardiff : Michael Forever, the tribute concert. They say the stadium can hold 75.000 people. The concert will benefit 3 charities : Aids project LA, Prince's trust, and I couldnt catch the name of the third. Maybe someone else got it. They said the money would come from donations and all concert proceeds, and that it would be audited so that people can be sure that the money goes where it's supposed to.
The tickets will be sold only online. There will be another press conf, oct 3rd, to explain the details on ticketing which will start on oct. 4th
Still no info on who those amazing artists will be.

Then the Jackson family thanked GL several times, apparently the idea of the show comes from the company.

Finally the representative for GL announced the opening of a trust fund for Michael's kids, and gave a cheque of $100.000 to an emotional KJ.

Seriously, why take the time to have a press conference, if you are NOT prepared to announce who will be performing?

I don't get that.. why would a company open a trust fund for the kids... they already have the Estate and Michael's intelligence to provide all they need for their entire life.. and why would Katherine be so emotional about it, like they didn't have anything to eat.. is it because HER name is written on the check?
 
What a pathetic p.r stunt using the kids like that. Emotional blackmail to get ppl to support the show
 
I believe if you do this for charity, I dont get why you give so much money to 3 kids who, indeed, dont need it, when millions of others are starving NOW in Somalia. Just saying.
 
Using the kids again, They know damn wel the kids do not need a trust fund. It was more like a pay off for coming to the press conference
 
What are they up to know - that's the feeling I get.
But I was thinking - because I feel Tito, Marlon and Jackie usally do what's right for Michael - this would be a good thing but I guess I was wrong about them too.

The day Jackie took his beloved nephew to a basketball game, and pictures, apparently taken by paps, ended up on his personal web site, I wondered too.

thank you for the summary...as i missed the press conference. so they are again using the children to sell tickets....a trust fund really....THEY DON'T NEED A DAMN TRUST FUND!!! MICHAEL made sure that his children are financially secure..they dont NEED this blood money and that is all it is.....its a way for the rest of the leeches to get money....despicable that is what it is. Lord please give me the strength, Also so i take it that they wont be in the court room where their asses belong....they will be up on some stage.....disgusting,,,,,that is what it is disgusting..
 
Who are they trying to fool with this trust fund crap? $100,000 dollars for kids that are each already multi millionaires is laughable.

This is all so insulting to Michael I can't even tell you...

I have never in my life seen such a scheming family and here is but one more example of why MJ didn't leave his family in charge. I hope John Branca comes out with his guns blazing. Go get em JB and JM!!!!

I, too, hope the Estate will put a stop to this. The Estate has been too patient with this greedy family.

This is suspect. if you don't have artists lined up to appear at the tribute, dont announce it. If you do have artists then announce them too. It's good promotion on a day when the news is swamped by amy winehouse and the norway massacre.they should have delayed the announcement til everything calmed down. Also that whole thing with the trust fund is ludicrous. Those kids are set to inherit a billion dollar estate.they don't need 100k in a trust fund.

I think that if the Estate let people in the industry know they are not supporting this concert, the big names won't participate.

Amy who and the massacre where? don't you know that the world revolves around the Jackson family? No other news exist.
 
The same thought occurred to me.perhaps the family will have trouble lining up good acts. Unreliable background and no official endorsement mends this family venture could be doomed.

Michael made sure that his children would be well taken care of and would never have to worry about money, they don't need no charity!

Right now there are millions of people suffering and dying in East Africa, who would surely benefit from a cheque of $100,000.

I'm fuming over the Jackson family!!!

They can't be too on top of their game if they involved themselves with The Jackson Family. No offense, but their track record speaks for itself, in my opinion.

My feeling is that Global Live must "think" that by getting so-called approval from Katherine Jackson then they can do WHATEVER.

They will be in for a rude awakening, when they realize that there can be NO Michael Jackson related merchandising. No Michael Jackson Posters! No Michael Jackson tee-shirts!

Reminds me of the belt people, and everybody after the belt people. Thinking that just because a Jackson family member says: "Okay," these folks think they have card blanche over Michael's likeness and everything that goes with that.

I expect the representatives of Global Live to received a letter from The Estate Of Michael Jackson before all is said and done.
 
In my personal opinion, this is a HUGE shame for Michael Jackson. The man worked all his life and he left his kids lots of money. They are not in need of a cent, but some of his family seem to be in desperate need of every cent they can milk out of MJ's name. A trust for the kids? Please!!! A charity for the kids? Gimme a break!!!! Millions are dying as we speak and they need to support millionaire kids???? Use MJ3 as bites for a show is a shame and a total lack of respect. It's an abuse.

We all know how it will end.

1 - Artists do not take part in the show;

2 - The concert is canceled;

3 - Michael Jackson's name is disrespected in the press yet again;

4 - Jackson Family gets a lot of money and then is taken to court.

5 - MJ's fans speak some truths about the family and receive an infraction at MJJCommunity. Reason: Towards Continual disrespect Michael's family.:crazy :crazy :crazy :crazy :crazy :crazy

Today's press conference in Los Angeles announced a tribute concert to Michael to be attended and supported by the Jackson Family. However, we want to make clear that this does not reflect the position of the entire family.

While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death. As everyone knows, those proceedings commence September 20th, and this "Michael Forever" concert takes place in Cardiff, Wales, UK,on October 8th. In light of this, we feel it is inappropriate to be involved with such an ill-timed event and its promoter, Global Live.

Furthermore, the decision to proceed with this concert disrespects opinions and wishes expressed in the strongest terms to Global Live during conversations in April when this event was presented to the majority of the family as an idea already in its advanced stages.

There will come a time and place for an amazing and deserving tribute to Michael. But we feel that the most important tribute we can give to our brother at this time is to seek justice in his name.
