I love me some bubblegum soul but i ended up voting for the jacksons, i think some of michaels best and most meaningful songs were created during the jacksons era. (be not always anyone?)

umm I chose The Jacksons.. so hard because the Jackson 5 are so legendary. ABC, Dancin' Machine, I'll Be There, The Love You Save etc.

but stuff like Can You Feel It, Shake Your Body, Blame It on the Boogie, Lovely One, Heartbreak Hotel, Things I Do for You are just so amazing. Also Destiny and Triumph are two of my favourite albums outside of MJ :)

Jacksons hands down. Once they got a chance to produce their own songs, things really took off, even if they didn't sales wise. Triumph had GOT TO BE THE MOST AWESOME ALBUM EVER, followed by Destiny. I love Triumph, because Mike had had success with OTW, went into the studio with his brothers and the entire album really sounds like the just went into a little bubble and created these incredible pieces of music that blend together PERFECTLY. Every song on there is a GEM. AND because they are songs written by Mike and his brothers, they are more personal and heartfelt FOR ME, at least I can certainly feel that, where as I don't really get that withe the J5 material.

Destiny as well. Title song is a just amazing! Also That's What You Get..., Things I Do For You, Bless His Soul.. SO personal for Mike, I absolutely love the emotion in those songs. Beautiful music.

i had to vote for jackson 5. i just cant forget about the little boy who poured his heart into every song and sang them like he truly understood every word and meaning behind them, even if they weren't his own. i almost voted for the jacksons after reading some of your guys' posts though!

Destiny is probably Michaels best work, I rate that album above Thriller and invincible

i subscribe to the 2nd part and can add that i rate Triumph above Destiny and Off The Wall.

I picked the Jacksons because it sounds closer to mj as a solo artist at least what was to come with all the solo albums. But, MJ as a lil guy is awesome too! I love both but like the older stuff better!

You can't go wrong with either one. The Jackson 5 had Little Michael. But the Jacksons had Michael JACKSON (THE KING OF POP)

Tough one.I'm leaning More towards the jacksons because i'm more a fan of adult michael .I love alot of jackson 5 songs as well but the jacksons have can you feel it lol

I'm going to have to go with Jackson 5. While Blame It On The Boogie, Shake Your Body Down, and Can You Feel It are probably my favorite Jackson-brothers' songs overall, I'd rather pop in a J5 CD to listen to all the way through than a Jacksons CD. I am a fan of the old Motown sound in general. I love all the artists that were on that label back in the day.

I'm definitely biased towards the Jackson 5 and Motown, because I'm from Michigan and that sound is my DNA, lol! Just like Michael is irreplaceable, so is Jermaine and the dynamics of that Jackson sound was forever changed when he left the group.

Actually, I think I'd say J5 as well. The J5 released quite a few classic albums rather than just singles as people like to make out, and I personally find the Motown sound to be generally more timeless than the CBS/Epic era one.

Plus, there's loads more J5 stuff to actually listen to (yeah, I'm selfish). With The Jacksons, the only properly amazing albums are Destiny and Triumph, as much as I also like Victory.

Whereas with the J5, I only have four of their albums so far (the first three plus Dancing Machine) and I actually really love them all. They're very complete albums if you ask me, not the 'throwaways' that people seem to think that the J5 made.

Oh, and touching on what the above poster said, I always kinda miss Jermaine's voice when listening to The Jacksons. I'm a real fan of his stuff and for me, the group didn't really feel complete without him.

Where can i buy the J% and Jackson albums in CD format? I wanna listen to them....but as seperate albums. Not luike a collectors series or combination album.

I prefer The Jackson because Michael had more creative control over his music and he started to show the first signs of genius in the albums that ge could write and compose the most.
Talking about The Jacksons albums, which is better in your opinion, Destiny or Triumph? You can mention other if you want.

My vote goes to The Jacksons.
Michael had an amazing, soulful voice as a child but in The Jacksons his voice, his tone and interpretation become even more richer.

I voted for the Jacksons for all the reasons already told in this thread: more mature sound, more creative control and IMO better songs too. Just think of Can you feel it, Bless his soul, Shake your body....

ABC, I want you back, Never can say goodbye are cute songs, but I don't think they are as strong as songs as the above mentioned. (Maybe "I'll be there".) It's Michael's vocals those make them great.
