I'm not meaning this in a bad way but do the middle east ever get anything right? as i recall its always been in turmoil and most countrys never listen to the voters when it comes to things like this and its always the "bad guy" that gets elected not just in Iran but in other middle eastern countrys aswell

and the interesting thing is that the whole CELL PHONE system in iran is off. no connection anywhere..... it proves Iran is not longer Islamic Republic of Iran but only, Islamic Iran. NO REPUBLIC....

they get things wrong just as America gets things wrong and a lot of the conflict over there has been contributed to by us over the last 50 years.

I can tell you this. Iran gets it exactly right on their oil. It's publicly owned. The wealth it brings is shared by every person living in Iran.

The middle east gets other things right too, but they are in a different stage in their social development than we are. They are behind us, and all too often we tried to keep it that way.

To be fair, my country invaded yours like 50 years ago and overthrew a democracy. That is part of what helped create the current situation.

the hope is so little but i think if the whole world response, reject this election and some how involves, maybe we can really overthrow this mini monster.

They also said on the news here that cell phone system and televisionnetworks were taken down to prevent people from organizing protests against the election outcome. Quite the democracy it seems... :scratch:

the U.S. we overthrew the democratically elected leader of Iran 50 years ago. most Americans don't even remember this. Obama even mentioned this in his speech he gave in Egypt a week ago. We have made a lot of mistakes with our meddling in the middle east. constantly taking sides with one group only to take sides with their enemy a short time later.

Example, we used to be allies with Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. Look where we are now? Not that I'm defending Osama Bin Laden by any means, but we probably never should have taken sides with him in the first place. We need to abandon the whole "an enemy of my enemy is my friend" because it's gotten us into a lot of trouble.

Obviously we shouldn't have invaded Iraq as well.

It sucks to hear about Mousavi. I really wish he was Iran's next President, even though he has little say in foriegn policy issues, including whether or not to develop a nuclear weapon, he still has a lot of say in domestic issues including how democratic the country becomes. I feel really bad for the people of Iran right now.

Ahmadinijad really comes off as no better than Bush. The actions and rhetoric of both leaders have only made war between our countries more likely. Hopefully President Obama can prevent it. He's kind of our only hope now for peace.

i do not think Bush cheated like Ahmadinejad.
our votes were not counted at allllllllllllllllllllll. all was arranged and decided before we went to vote.
the eader had said, 24 million votes for ahmadinejad must be sealed. and so, no one of those boxes full of people's real voted were even opened. no vote was read.


u see, we r fooled. many people who voted did not want to and, had not voted for many years (my dad, my mom my granma) and the same with other families. because voting is an approval of this islamic system. and many people disapprove, do they do not vote.
for a month is tried to persuade my mom and dad to vote.
u know 8 years ago, the same happened.
Khatami and Nategh Noori were the candidate. the leader indirectly almost directly told people vote for Nategh Noori but people voted for Khatami. maaaaaaaaaaaaaaany people did, 20 million so they could not vote and so Khatami was chosen. We believed it would be the same. i told my mom, if allllll people vote, they can cheat then.
no one could imagine that they had have gone too bold to do, and that a HUGE cheating was on the way. HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE.


u see, 81% of people came to vote BUT OUR VOTES R NOT COUNTED. Iran only reports, "IRANAIAN PEOPLE APPROVES OF THEIR GOVERMANTAL SYSTEM" "IT PROVES NO ONE IS AGAINST THIS SYSMEN" - EVERYONE CAME TO VOTE" and so on.

I don't know how it works in Iran. But in a lot of countries, the newspapers and news networks conduct exit polls to try and get an early indication of the election results. Basically what happens is that pollsters wait and the door of the polling place and before voters leave they ask who they voted for. So by the time the polls close they may have some indication of what the result will be.

If the exit poll comes out very close they usually wont confirm a win for either candidate. But if the exit poll comes out with a clear majority saying they voted for a candidate, they will usually confirm the said candidate as the winner of that electorate before the votes are actually counted.

So if Ahmadinejad really got 60%+ of the vote according to exit polls, then the pollsters would have called the election for Ahmadinejad early. Because 60%+ is enough of a win in the exit polls to safely assume he will win when all the votes are actually counted. So it's not necessarily an indication of foul play that the result was reported so early.

The result of the 2008 U.S. election was reported by the news networks rather early. Pretty much as soon as the west-coast polls closed they called the election for Obama. Long before all the votes were counted. They based the result on exit polls alone. Of course, when the actual votes were counted Barack Obama was confirmed the winner.

So if exit polling was done in Iran, it's not a big deal that the result came in very early. Competing news networks often try to be the first to report the results, so they'll base the result on the earliest possible indicator they can.

I believe the Iranian government did rig the election so that Amadinejad would win. I hope that the world will continue to watch and I hope the Iranian people will continue to speak out and protest.

As far as Obama is concern, I don't want him to get involved with the politics of the election of the Iranian people. That is their fight to deal with. At the end of the day, Amadinejad is going to remain president and the world leaders are going to have to deal with him whether they like it or not.

No country in the World counts their votes. This includes the United States. Also why is there no concern for the rights of the Palestinians these people are being murdered & killed by their "democratic" neighbor. Where is the UN on this tragedy?

I know what u means.

the exist polling was for Mousavi. he was called at 12 that u r the winner, based on what they had heard from voters. but the goverment announced Ahmadu is the president for sureeeeeeeee! that was the difinite official verdict based on the counted votes.
no votes were counted. boxes were ready there with the needed votes inside.

Mousavi actually has got 19 million votes! Karoubi 18 million ahmadi nejad 7 or 8 million.

yeah it was so peaceful, so beautiful. no shouting but silence, people only flashed peace sign, were wearing green.... and words were written... WHERE IS MY VOTE?

but did u know that it ended by death of a girl. at the end, in Azadi square, a girl was shot dead. :no: still can't believe it.

A GIRL today was shot dead.
Another person, a boy was murdered last night, in Tehran.

and 3, or more boys were killed in other cities within previous 48 hours.




and somethign interesting is that a few people has asserted that a few of those wild beaters, wearing Iran's police uniform or the organization we call (urgent/special guard) were speaking Arabic! :eek:

Well let's hope it it really leads to something. It is important for those who feel their vote wasn't counted, continue on speaking out in a peaceful way of course. Some outside observers are saying that the religeous leaders are taken the protest real seriously. Also some are saying that the leaders and supporters who backed Ahmadinejad sensed that Mousavi was going to win and that they stepped in to make sure that those votes for him wasn't counted.

I saw on one news show here in Los Angeles, the statistics graphs on the last election with Ahmadinejad and the other candidates that ran against him and all those candidates won in their home areas against Ahmadinejad. Even the candidate who got only 1% of the vote even beat Ahmadinejad. This time around, Ahmadinejad won in every area of Iran by a landslide even supposedly where Mousavi is from. The news show posted a graph of this election and all the other candidates were nowhere on the graph. It look like a cartoon only seeing Ahmadinejad on the graph. The comentators were saying that is un heard of and a clear sign of rigging votes.

My thoughts are with the Iranian people. I sure hope this sad situation should come to an end. A happy one. No one should be allowed to rig anything at all just to stay in power. Because after all, his job should be serving the people that elected him, not the other way around.
