they sound uninspired and terribly rushed. They haven't aged well

Yep, the estate just wanted something that would work and chart then. Replacing all of Mj's contributions and hiring of the time producers got them that, but you are then left with a product that does not work beyond the year it came out lol. It's also disrespectful to MJ to replace all of his work and basically use him as a talk box on his own songs.

John McClain did a wonderful job updating LNFSG (as he also did with Behind The Mask) but apart from that I wasn't a fan of their strategy.

Update:

I am legitimately shocked by how much I'm loving this album. I will admit, I have only consistently listened to three songs, but that's just my process lol.

Right now I am in love with both versions of Loving You, both versions of Love Never Felt So Good, and both versions of Blue Gangsta. I've listened to nothing but these songs and I am seriously obsessed with them!

The one thing I will say, though, is that I feel like version of Love Never Felt So Good with Justin Timberlake is fine, but Justin is totally unnecessary. He contributes nothing meaningful lol. Not meant to be a direct knock against him, but I am also fine if it's interpreted that way haha.

Anyway, I'm just amazed that I love these songs SO much. I had no expectations at all of liking the posthumous albums because I never really hear anything good about them. I'm so pleasantly surprised!
