Did the force have a lot of power? AND Did it frighten the powers that be?

Yes I noticed that ^ (on the film). I also loved how he took the job of creating a video as an opportunity to bring a bit of peace between two rival gangs. How bold and brilliant! I would love to see how this affected the life in that area after they had worked together to create a great video for the best selling album of all time.

Imagine this on a global scale?
Yes, indeed. I too would like to know what happened to those guys, cause like Ola Ray, they too created history. Everybody knows thir face. That must have changedtheir lives forever. I just wondered if they turned their lives around. It also shows the true genious of MJ and how he really doesn'r discriminate between people, no matter who they are.:)

And some "fans" like nationsidon'tknowwhat... say michael Jackson mania has been invented /edited or something like that, jesus .

I remember when michael went to Africa , he went to Gabon where 100 000 people went to receive him at the airport , although he didn't even perform , he sat on chair on the center of the crowd and each time he shook his head , the crowd became absolutely CRAZY , just because he shook his head on the rythm of the drums .

One handicaped was crying and crying on his chair , people walked on him but definitely not wanted to move only because of michael .

The week after he went an another country Ivory Coast , things happened badly because when michael appeared from the airport people were so much crazy , they started running fastly after his car , and it created a riot but the worst is that the policemen started to beat the crowd with their stiks , that was horrible .

See the effects michael Jackson do on people , the mass mania that's so crazy no other megastar did experienced it only michael Jackson.

I often wonder how Michael remain sane with all this adulation. Anybody else would go crazy. There was never any popstar mania like Michael's. Elvis never had any mania. He had fans going crazy at his concerts but there was never any mania to speak of., The beatles manaia was mainly in America and a few in Britain, and it was mainly from hyppies, not mainstream. MJ is the only popstar that could truly claim to have universal mania from every age and race and truly long lasting. I was at a show with Paul MC in attendance and there was polite applause. He tried to tell a joke and hardly anyone laugh at it. MJ is the only popstar with universal appeal an longlasting mania. It is here on record.

Yeah that what i think , the mania is very long .

I remember when i saw the reaction of the crowd in 2006 , i was so "wtf ...that's unbelievable !!" 25 years after Thriller people keep on being like that with michael it is just unbelievable . I mean usualy a mania lasts 5 years maximum after the band or the man (but usualy the band) has done his first tour , people find out the band for the first time with their own eyes and the mania is finished , for the second tour there is no more mania but just polite claps like you say .

I mean mania is not a sign of quality , but for michael its realy realy special .
Usualy when there is a mania its teenage girls and only teenage girls who become crazy and it lasts 5 years before they pass to another thing , but michael its adults , old ,very old people , teenagers , and children , black , white , asian .

I can say you that when the rumour that he has to come to France for the NRJ Music Awards burst , ALL the neswpapers went crazy , the buzz was incredible and TF1 knew that if michael attended to this show , the TV rate would literaly exploded as michael appeared to a French TV show only once in ........1974 .
Despite Madonna went to the NRJ Music Awards in 2004 , but i didn't even knew that and there were no tv rate explosion .

He is definitely the only universal star the world has never seen .

You are so very right. Many of the clips that I posted were from the late 90's, long after Thriller and after the first allegations where they claim that his career was over. That crowd in Sidney,Australia, with 10, 000, I doubt that the Queen of England had that much crowd. As one commentator said, only the pop could draw such a crowd. I truly believe that MJ could still draw that crowd today if he did publicise his visit before leaving.

Watching these clips you just have to sit back and be like "DAMN!" O_O. I mean, it's nuts! It's really insane how he's received. It's incredible & awe-inspiring too, but my goodness - no wonder the man can't go anywhere! Granted, were he to make more public appearances maybe the mania might die down a bit, but he holds onto that awesome elusiveness ^_^. It's part of what adds to his image, but that's exciting in it of itself. Cuz let's face it - the world needs someone like that. That is, the insane heights that MJ has reached - if he didn't set the bar, someone else probably would have (which isn't really worth thinking about since that's not the case), but he did. He came along and got all those accolades and the adulation of practically the whole world. And his appeal is just sooooo incredibly universal. It's just mind-numbing if you think about it . I read on someone's blog about their experience at the 2006 WMAs. And they said that they've never heard anything like it - that the whole stadium was going absolutely nuts over MJ. That his award & presence trumped everything & everyone else. My guess is that being the living legend that he is, and given the fact that his work is still so relevant, that he'll be receiving the same kind of reception for years to come :D.

Seeress, this is the thing, that the michaelmania Never did go away. That is why the media is still trying so hard. It never did go away.

I remember during the trial when michael was coming back from his first arraignment, he was caught in highway traffic and helicoptors were following his move back to Neverland and I kid you not, as soon as motorists realised who was in the car, they abandoned their vehicles and started crossing the busy highway to go and touch him. They were risking their lives crossing the highway to go and touch Michael Jackson. Police was alerted and a police on motor bikes came up and escorted MJ out of the traffic and got him on his way. This was during the trial.
The mania never stopped.

Oh, I'm not saying it did! I'm simply surprised by the enormity of it all, you know? Like I've seen most of these clips before. I know of the kind of hysteria that comes MJ's way. I was just saying that I think it in part comes from the fact that he makes so few appearances overall. It's almost strategic in a sense, do you know what I mean? But he's loved worldwide and his fanbase is so diverse in terms of age, race, etc. that whenever I wonder if he'll mania will still follow him in the years to come, I realize my mistake in thinking that at all.

i agree. when TMZ forgets about Elizabeth Taylor to ask about MJ, you know the MJ mania hasn't stopped. When TMZ gets a chance to see him, and they lose control begging for an autograph..you know the mania has never left. and so, the media acts against itself, not wanting to be upstaged...and they try hard..and still tend to be schizophrenic about him...and american chartmakers and lawmakers change charts and laws to try and make them 'Michael proof', cus they feel threatened by his starpower. And yet the strategies never work. the bottom line is T25 is still number 1 when it's not supposed to be. The mania won't leave.

I totally understand what you mean by the "few appearances" thing--but I totally do not believe that's why people all over the world go nuts over Michael. Plenty of other "successful" artists fall by the wayside (or hybernate) and then re-appear a few years later and no one gives a crap or even notices--or at least they don't get anywhere NEAR the mania Michael gets.

It's his music, his personality, his charisma, and the fact that all of those things about him are very exciting, and people genuinely enjoy his music, and his performances, and his dance.

Sure--the few appearances ADDS to the anticipation of seeing Michael, but that's not his appeal--being a disappearing act. :p

Oh and I TOTALLY agree with Farakhan--what he said about Michael.

But I believe he has ALREADY "raised the consciousness" of his fans (and still is every day)--above and beyond! :D

Yeah a lot of stars does very few appearences ,Madonna for example or some like paul Macartney , we barely see him once a year .

But when they appear , no one at the airports to receive them , no crazyness but michael i mean 25 years later he even is no more as good looking as he used to be and throughout all the crap about him see the 2006 WMA amazing !!.
