oh god the last one was on my wall. i loved it so much. i went to the library got it photocopied and enlarged , it was hard to get it home on the bus because it was four a4 sheets stuck with sellotape, with a slight sheen. teen me was so proud. then i had to draw the rest of him - but it happened, michael was there. and "he lived in my closet " obviously, for about four years. Remember the time (regular shop bought poster) was on the front door it kept falling off
Soft silky gold.....hmmm
Now I'll stop....haha

oh, you wanna try having your fave cat destroy your Jimi Hendrix photos! Damn cat had the weird habit of jumping up the wall (or sometimes curtains, wth?), clinging on for a minute and then sliding back down. With claws extended. Did it once in my room while I was out. Came home to fave Jimi pics totally destroyed. Cat care was delegated out to others for about a week to give me time to recover. jeez! freakin' cat!obviously, for about four years. Remember the time (regular shop bought poster) was on the front door it kept falling off

You are all so lovely yes i wont say no to a nice cup of tea and some biccies these storys take some energy thank you very much @zinniabooklover @MacMandy90 lol i was crazy for him, but i wasn't a dedicated follower, it was fear really , and age , plus i thought it was weird to be outside say the Dorchester , and later the hemple . there were some DEDICATED people they would brave all weathers , didnt do it , didn't register -and i regret that mindset now.definitely magic!
you're killing me, lol
I've got @MacMandy90 on standby with some nice tea and biscuits, lol
oh god this cover ,,yeah i had to order back copys of s 'hits , when i saw that one , madonna was toast lol oh god that bring back memorys
oh, don't say that, wend. Being a follower fan is one way to do it, I guess, but it's not the only way. I wouldn't do it. Doing it the way you did it is gold. Absolute gold. These stories you just shared, they are awesome! I can picture every scene. Come on, who'd want to be hanging out around a posh hotel when you could be wrestling your 'far-too-big' photocopy home on the bus - with bits of sellotape dropping off, lol. That's loads more fun.You are all so lovely yes i wont say no to a nice cup of tea and some biccies these storys take some energy thank you very much @zinniabooklover @MacMandy90 lol i was crazy for him, but i wasn't a dedicated follower, it was fear really , and age , plus i thought it was weird to be outside say the Dorchester , and later the hemple . there were some DEDICATED people they would brave all weathers , didnt do it , didn't register -and i regret that mindset now.
@zinniabooklover well thing is my fandom was pretty much all paper because i would write relms of ff all types not just romance ff , just fantastical storys with him , changing history and mix of back to the future with him , kind of stuff, i would have stacks of blank VHS and would record anything like any little thing i could - youd sit a whole programme full of crap to get a two second glance at him going into a hotel or an airport , it was just that way all thje time , i would back order everything i could , i would grab every every , single poster going , they certainly knew me in Woolworths im sure , omg they had the best most glossiest BIG posters there id make my own merch really no mj necklaces at that time so id sometime make my own , well there were some merch , but not using the then current pics i was seeing every day i liked "normal" pics like when he is at a restaurant with naomi or with mac playing in Bermuda , when i got to know his history ,this guy was such a thrill - his interview with Latoya at Havenhurst or when he was at home with his brothers, the stage pics not so much to wear in a necklace cos you wanted to feel close, you didnt want a locket , no hearts - but also you wanted people to know that this is the one , you LOVE him.so large keyrings with a bicycle lock/ chain worked for me , it wasnt too much to me , it was even kind of bad . wore make up like him slightly , thick on the eyeliner only on the rim of the lash line like him ,not in the water line . the bambi eye lashes , no red lips though i did have my own style i guess moreso gothic but it was completely, utterly , truly lead by him. he was a teacher , so . i even took tiny pictures and stuck them all over my walkman cause a blank no mj walkman would not do and i made like, regular keyrings, belts , never sold any, never , never profited never even come across my mind but all just for me. in my fantasy world it didnt seem as werid as it seems im sure to you and anyone else reading this , but i wouldnt change the intensity and that gonna say it again - magical feeling of " being his "for the world.that was something i never experienced ever again.oh, don't say that, wend. Being a follower fan is one way to do it, I guess, but it's not the only way. I wouldn't do it. Doing it the way you did it is gold. Absolute gold. These stories you just shared, they are awesome! The poster falling off the bedroom door, your parents tearing their hair out, you taking over the photocopier in the library, all the library staff going, 'uh oh, here she comes, it's that Michael Jackson fan, she needs the copier, get it filled up with paper or there'll be hell to pay!'
I'm loving this!
wendi, you seem to be implying that you were not dedicated. And yet we have this:You are all so lovely yes i wont say no to a nice cup of tea and some biccies these storys take some energy thank you very much @zinniabooklover @MacMandy90 lol i was crazy for him, but i wasn't a dedicated follower, it was fear really , and age , plus i thought it was weird to be outside say the Dorchester , and later the hemple . there were some DEDICATED people they would brave all weathers , didnt do it , didn't register -and i regret that mindset now.

exactly! that's why I would say you don't need the Dorchester. I know it's not my story so it's not really my place to say but your story is SO much more interesting than hanging around outside a building, imo. Each to his or her own, of course, but this, to me, is way more exciting and gorgeous and interesting.and anyone else reading this , but i wouldnt change the intensity and that gonna say it again - magical feeling of " being his "for the world.that was something i never experienced ever again.

And yet we have this:
you were a punk, wendi. This is total punk.
'It was easy, it was cheap, go and do it' (Desperate Bicycles).
Seriously, the creativity, the DEDICATION, the effort, the patience, the ideas, the total love, the investment of time, the way you shaped it ... it's all here.
I bought my first record in Woolies!
you were a punk, an artist and an entrepenuer - oh god, sp? I know I got it wrong but you know what I mean. You were an artist. All of this stuff, you were being Tracey Emin but more interesting.

It is quite intense, though. Think I'll ask @MacMandy90 to bring extra rations. At this rate, I'm gonna need some tea and biscuits myself. And a cuddly blanket (throat still giving me grief, man, getting sick of Ready Brek).
