“Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil” to Perform at Las Vegas Aces Game on Sunday, Aug. 11

This Sunday, Aug. 11, Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil will take over the court with an electrifying halftime performance during the Las Vegas Aces game at Mandalay Bay Events Center (Photo credit: Isaac Brekken/Getty Images)

As the Aces take on the Connecticut Sun, 13 members of the Michael Jackson ONE cast will dazzle the audience with a spectacular act showcasing fan-favorite hits “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” and “Beat It.”

To celebrate the King of Pop’s upcoming birthday, those in attendance will have the opportunity to win tickets to performances of Michael Jackson ONE on Aug. 29.

I forget if I mentioned this before, but I'm seeing this show again on my birthday (in November) this year! My sister got front row center tickets for me and her to see it together. We saw it back in 2016, and it's an incredible show! I have a keychain from the show that broke in a way, so I now wear it as a necklace, and people love it!
 
I finally saw the show, I was there for Michael's birthday on Aug 29th had tickets 5 rows from the stage.... and I have to say its 10/10. Better than the touring show IMO, and the dancing/effects/song choices were all amazing. The audience was engaged and clapping along, the MJ gift shop was swarmed by 50+ people. Going into the Mandalay Bay is like a shrine to Micheal Jackson, such a cool experience for a MJ fan. If anyone in here hasn't gone to see this show.... I STRONGLY recommend it. It's jaw dropping.
 
Michael Jackson ONE doesn&#8217;t just use the late King of Pop&#8217;s music as the soundtrack for a typically dazzling, inventive showcase of acrobatics and dancing. The show is all about Jackson and a storyline inspired by his conflicted relationship with fame. Even before the show formally begins, performers dressed as paparazzi roam the theater in a playfully exaggerated imitation of the constant media attention that troubled Jackson throughout his life.

Although his struggles are an important element of the show, it&#8217;s primarily a celebration of the inspirational power of music. The four main characters discover their inner strength on a journey through Jackson&#8217;s catalog of hits, witnessing and participating in intricate numbers set to enduring classics like &#8220;Beat It,&#8221; &#8220;Bad,&#8221; &#8220;Black or White&#8221; and more, from Jackson&#8217;s childhood days in the Jackson 5 to his more eccentric late-career work.

Cirque du Soleil&#8217;s dancers re-create Jackson&#8217;s moves, including the moonwalk and the anti-gravity lean from the &#8220;Smooth Criminal&#8221; video. Zombies take to trampolines during &#8220;Thriller,&#8221; and dancers move in electric light outlines in the pitch dark during &#8220;Billie Jean.&#8221;

Looking through this makes me want to see this show again. I saw it in 2015 and 2016 with my bestie. In 2016 it was during the week of Michael's birthday, but we chose to go to the cheaper tribute artist show on the actual day of his birthday. In hindsight, I kinda wish we had gone to MJ One instead on that day, and I especially wish I had gone there either last year or this year. There's so much fun stuff that goes on for the birthday performances!
 
I probably won't never be able to go to this because one it's kind of too far away from me and two my mom already said she won't go to no MJ event if Michael isn't there so i can't go. XD

She got a point maybe one day she'll change her mind if not then, oh well. after all it would be giving money to his estate so maybe one day she'll change her mind. :)

A lot people saying the show is good so i'll talk more on her about it that's only we ever have money to travel to las vegas. ^ ^"

It's a resident show, which means it's permanently based in Las Vegas. Shows that are in residence in various Las Vegas hotels stay there for years and years and years. This is already MJ One's 7th year. The theatre and stage is purpose-built, in order to suit the show. The entire Mandalay Bay Resort contains MJ related decor. The show is definitely NOT meant to move to other venues. Immortal was the show which travelled the world, but not MJ One.....that won't happen.
