you're probably going to get something like-

hot: slang for attractive
sexy: having a sexual nature

or something unhelpful like that. i gave you the connotations of the words, which is probably more helpful in this case

lol yeah it's true in the dictionary they're practically identical, but when you use them there's a difference in what you mean. it may be slight but there is a difference.

hmm ok i'll try to do a better job explaining it for you

take the words cute and adorable. very similar dictionary definitions right? but with cute it's very generic. like you see a shirt and say "oh that's cute" you see a kid's face on poster and say "oh he's cute". but with adorable it's much more affectionate, much more personal. like if you know how a little kid acts and talks and looks, describing them would be adorable. cute does fit also, but adorable signifies that what you're describing is something that you're very fond of and close to.

you can basically translate that to hot and sexy.
hot - impersonal, usually only appearance
sexy - personal, encompasses many attributes

Being "sexy" is about the way you cary yourself. Confidence, charisma...you can be "hot" meaning 'physically attractive', but if you don't have confidence and/or charisma, it's just not sexy. You're just physically "hot".
