From writer/director/producer Gurinder Chadha (“Bend It Like Beckham”) comes the inspirational drama “Blinded by the Light,” set to the music and lyrics of Bruce Springsteen’s timeless songs. “Blinded by the Light” tells the story of Javed (Viveik Kalra) a British teen of Pakistani descent, growing up in the town of Luton, England, in 1987. Amidst the racial and economic turmoil of the times, he writes poetry as a means to escape the intolerance of his hometown and the inflexibility of his traditional father. But when a classmate introduces him to the music of “the Boss,” Javed sees parallels to his working-class life in Springsteen’s powerful lyrics. As Javed discovers a cathartic outlet for his own pent-up dreams, he also begins to find the courage to express himself in his own unique voice.

Based on Sarfraz Manzoor’s acclaimed memoir Greetings from Bury Park, “Blinded by the Light” is a joyful story of courage, love, hope, family and the unique ability of music to lift the human spirit. Chadha directed and produced the film, which was written by Manzoor, Chadha and Paul Mayeda Berges. The story is underscored by the music and poetic lyrics of Springsteen, who gave Chadha his blessing from the film’s inception.

“Blinded by the Light” stars Viveik Kalra, Hayley Atwell, Rob Brydon, Kulvinder Ghir, Nell Williams, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Aaron Phagura.

"The upcoming film is set to focus on the making of The Boss’ 1982 album, Nebraska, and will be based on the 2023 Warren Zanes deep-dive novel of the same name. Per THR, Scott Cooper will be adapting the book into a screenplay and will also direct, with Eric Robinson and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein as producers and Gotham Group backing the film.

Springsteen has previously said that Nebraska, his sixth studio album, is his most definitive work. “If I had to pick out one album and say, ‘This is going to represent you 50 years from now’ I’d pick Nebraska,” he told CBS Sunday Morning in 2023. The project peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart dated Oct. 30, 1982."

"Jeremy Strong is in talks to join the cast of the Bruce Springsteen biopic 'Deliver Me From Nowhere'.

The 'Succession' actor is set to portray the 'Born to Run' musician's long-time manager Jon Landau in the new movie that will feature Jeremy Allen White as the Boss.

Scott Cooper is directing the 20th Century Studios film and is adapting the screenplay from Warren Zarnes' 2023 book of the same name that tells the story of how Springsteen's 1982 album 'Nebraska' was made.

'Nebraska' was the rocker's sixth studio album and is one of his most acclaimed records. The songs focused on blue-collar narratives and featured Bruce performing all the instrumentals alone.

It was ranked at 150 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2020.

20th Century Studios chief David Greenbaum said after confirmation of the biopic earlier this year: "It is a once-in-a-lifetime honour to be collaborating with Bruce Springsteen, an inspiring and incomparable artist who represents so much to so many.

"The deep authenticity of his story is in great hands with my friend Scott Cooper whom I am thrilled to be collaborating with once again."
