If you question the validity of a professional photo you can ask the photographer for more pictures from that photo shoot. If it is authentic the photographer will turn over different shots. Some with different poses, some even with eyes closed. I questioned the validity of the vocal's on "breaking news" and several other songs of theirs that I've heard and they told me no other takes or tracks exist. They claim my uncle was so happy with the performance he instructed them to delete all the other files. I had the honor to learn and watch my uncle record my entire life and that is NOT how he worked. No outtakes, no other tracks, no backups, no proof. roughly 10 songs they turned in… same story for all of them. I asked for the computer it was created on... they said it broke. I asked for the original hard drive... they said it was destroyed. One dubious excuse after another.

THATS MIchael for certain on the above but ..
Breaking News is NOT -TJ and Taryl said they listend to the raw
accapella and knew right away it was NOT MJ. They will support
the songs on Album that are MJ but NOT Breaking News & a few
others.

They do NOT want to sabatoge the ALbum but also want to protect
their uncles Legacy and I agree _they coudl have let it pass as the
albums sucess is in their families best interest. but they have to be
true to MICHAEL on this

Im not in the slightest bit confused. That is NOT michael on main vocals.

I can't believe this is happening.
Looks like all the excitement got killed pretty quickly.
I had a feeling when I woke up this morning "what if it doesn't sound like MIchael?! Don't let that be true." I got scared to listen to it.

Now I do hear Michael in several parts. The other parts I'm not completely sure.
I think the problem is that he is singing on it but some other person's background vocals are layered over it louder than the original vocals.
So you can't really hear him, but you hear the other "person" like in the chorus for instance.

However we've got to keep in mind that these were recorded later on in his life so it could very well be that he was just going for a different sound. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case as well.
I think it's more of a case of overproduction with possible (most likely) different vocals from someone else. That's taking away from the original vocals.
I don't know why they would do that but to me that seems to be most likely what happened.
The other voice does sound a bit like Jason Malachi lol.

I'm not going to write it off as completely fake for right now.
Although I wish it would have been way more obviously him in the song so the discussion wasn't needed.
Didn't Teddy Riley work on this? He must have heard the original accapella singing.
He must know wether this is Michael or not.

Funny thing is the more I listen the more I think I recognise Michael in different parts of the song. Maybe it's my mind playing tricks on me or something.
I guess I can't fully believe Sony would release a song that has absolutely no original Michael vocals on it.

I do admit I was a bit dissapointed when I first heard it because it didn't seem like obviously Michael. But I'm going to watch how this unfolds.

I disagree and Im not being ungrateful _ I have to go along with MJs nephews Mother and children
on this even though I didnt before I heard the song _ After I heard I knew it was NOT MJ

Chorus can be sang by MJ, but I dont believe about the verses. Btw, it reminds me kind of a britney spears song. Still loving the 'do you know where your children are" ;)

Here are my thoughts!

"Breaking News" is certainly not michael! and we don't have to be in the studio with michael to prove this! his fans know his voice over the years!

It could be a PR stunt! yes who knows? The Jackson family probably don't know about this, otherwise they would have said that before Monday "The airing of BN".

Sony are testing the water. I hope. that they want to make sure if fans would recognize his voice or not, so they can release some other tracks that were Michael's but completed by this Imposter.

Why they still didn't release the Track list? is it because if they take off other cascio no one would notice? Maybe.

Fake this, fake that - whatever. Didnt we hear the same story when TII was released, certain family members claiming doubles were used and that the vocals were messed with?

Whats 'funny' is the content of this new song is about the lies surrounding Michael Jackson.......... look at what its caused us to talk about!

Why is all of this happening to Michael and us? He doesn't deserve it one bit. One can comment on his decisions in private life but THIS IS HIS ART FOR FUCKS SAKE. He would be pissed as hell, that's for sure.

No one is confused here! This is not MJ! (If it is than it means MJ has lost his voice, his sense of rhythm, his talent, and his common sense' singing this Cr@p!!). At first I kinda liked the violin at the begging' but I was shocked to find out that MJ would use a cheap beat-box for a new song... Now I'm relaxed knowing that song had nothing to do with MJ.

As much as I thing Quincy Jonce is a bastard and a back stabber, I really miss he's magical touch to MJ's music. I mean come on, who the hell is Eddi Cascio or Akon, or the black eye peas? I"d love to hear some unreleased stuff from the good old 80's...

that theory has been floatin around for the past couple hours... and even tho it still sounds a little crazy, it seems like that could potentially be an explanation..

im sure we will get some kind of official statement within the next 48 hrs regarding this matter.. either from the Cascios, the estate, Sony, or the Jacksons..

but we definitely deserve a proper explanation..

Must admit, I listened to this with a seed of doubt in my mind from all of the rumours. My initial thought was that it was a rough demo of Michael's voice that they have tried to make into a new song. I do think they've used another singer to layer over some of Michael's vocals and its a real shame. A positive note though; I really like the song.

Hmmm... how disappointing. I wish Sony would tell us the truth.

If Sony get away with this, it opens the floodgates for future recordings. All it says to me is Michael left more demos than anything else.

They are going to prove it's him so they can make a quick buck. This song wasn't released for the fans, it's for PR and controversy. They nail this, they can rape his demos forever.

It's a shit song I'm sorry. Something Britney would sing & the music n vocal sounds so much like timberlake it actually made me vomit a bit

First time I am posting about Breaking news... I had to go to sleep, but the feeling is still terrible :( Of course it is not Michael... Some parts probably are real, f.e. 1:23 "aoaaah" seems to be like Mike, but the vocals and overall feeling is Malachi feeling :(

As Alec wrote, it is the more sad, cos otherwise the song would be very good. But with real MJ vocals... I just hope this is some very stupid PR stunt, but probably not. How can they think we will not know? :(

I'm sorry, but I find it funny that every leaked track before this has sounded like Michael Jackson... all the Dangerous Demos, the demos released on the Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad special editions, Lisa It's Your Birthday, Serious Effect, Hold My Hand, Escape, the list goes on. On This Is It (the movie), with the footage being shot two years AFTER this song was supposedly recorded, MJ sounded pretty much like himself.

Yet, these tracks supposedly recorded in some home in New Jersey with people hardly known, where there are rumors about the authenticity of the voice.... the track comes out and sounds nothing like Michael Jackson.

Sounds to me like random Mike ad-libs padding out a totally un-authentic track with a sound-alike.
