I don't care if it's DVD or Blu-ray, but I want wide picture like on HIStory and Number Ones DVD & Bucharest, not that small picture like it was on Vision DVDs with black bars on the left and right.

But Michael performed 7 days at wembley. I think that particular night Michael didn't perform dirty Diana. I hope I was wrong and Michael performed dd after princess Diana said its her favorite song. Anyway we can't miss dirty Diana and the way you make me feel from bad tour. These two song are so epic!

So far, it sounds like a release with pretty much everything that was requested. A remastered album, a sh*t ton of bonus/unreleased material for the album, the unreleased material to be untouched, a concert release, a live album, 2 booklets with never before seen photos... Seriously, what more can you want? :lol:

I have no idea how I'm gonna wait till September but hey, I'll try. :D

You're right. Vision had these small and unneccesary bars.
But the best they can do if the VHS source has a 4:3 picture, leave it like it is. If they crop it to 16:9, you will loose one third of the picture and therefore also resolution. = NO GO.

I'm also wondering why a VHS tape is the best material that has "survived".
But I'm really greatful for what we seem to get!!!

This is a 25 year old VHS tape, which has been improved for release on DVD. The quality will not be what we currently expect of DVDs, so there's no point in releasing it on BluRay and no way to make it widescreen unfortunately. I heard that MJ (and now the Estate) don't own the rights for the professionally recorded BAD concerts, so they can't release them in pro quality. I forgot what the specific reason is but I believe it was a bad contract. We know professionally recorded shows existed, so I'm confident they would be released if they still exist and if the estate were able to negotiate a satisfactory deal with the rights holders, and that would mean we would get a BluRay instead, but for now we must be happy with enhanced VHS quality released on DVD.
It seems the Estate are really trying hard to put out a product the fans are happy with so I can't criticise this release. It's as good as they could have possibly do given the circumstances.

By the way, how come they managed to use the MITM footage in Moonwalker on the Blu Ray version? I think this is the quality we expected in a full concert.

I can't wait to see Man in the Mirror, Billie Jean, Thriller, Dirty Diana, Another Part of Me, Smooth Criminal, Beat It and Bad performances from Bad Tour 2nd leg on dvd in great quality. I'm so excited! I hope they include The Way You Make Me Feel from other Bad Tour concert as bonus material.

It's strange . . the audio for the CD is taken from a multitrack recorded that night, but the video is taken from a VHS . . . . :S

I'm not sure of the accuracy but I once read somewhere that there were parts of the Bad tour that were shot on film for the purpose of including it in Moonwalker. I don't think they shot an entire show on film, just the parts they needed.

if the DVD has 4x3 picture, the DVD has no bars at all, but you TV screen might be 16x9, so you have black bar on the sides...
If they have made the DVD 16x9 with original 4x3 picture in it, the DVD has black bars on the sides...

I am sure there is still more to come. Notice no mention of the Spike Lee documentary in the Press Release.
