Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For
They can definitely release Blu-ray version of Bad Tour when the original film surfaces. The question is not whether they can or they can't, but whether they will or won't.
If the sales of Bad 25 shoots through the roof, it'll definitely give Sony and the Estate more incentive to work on Dangerous 25 and HIStory 25. The question is will Sony spend money on a duplicate project, namely Bad Tour Blu-ray. Sony does not exist to please fans. Of course, fans will flock to buy Bad Blu-ray any time. The general public probably won't spend money on another Bad concert. Say, you are a causual fan of another artist and just bought one of his tour DVD, say the Blu-ray version of the same tour is released two years from now. Will you buy the Blu-ray or settle with the DVD you have already owned? That's why I said Sony and the Estate have this one chance to do it right. We probably won't see another Bad releated project any time soon.
Maybe when the original film surfaces they can release the bad tour on blu.
But I think the estate wants so see whether its worthwhile or not. That depends on the sales of this 'VHS' version. Still, I am very thankful and excited. The audio will be crystal clear, VHS or not, they are using the multitracks.
