BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For [General Discussion]

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

$45 price is totally acceptable for 3 CD's and 1 DVD.

For example Bad 2001 release is being sold for $8.40 on Amazon. Bucharest DVD is $12. So when you do the math for 3 CD's and 1 DVD you get $37. Price is quite reasonable.

Furthermore if you don't want the boxset, you can get 2 CD's (Bad + unreleased songs + remixes) for $13 and Wembley DVD for $13 (according to MJ Store). So if you don't care for the Live performance Audio or the box , you can get the unreleased songs and DVD for a mere $26.

my post was deleted. only because i used the word F***?
every artist use this this, and they are idols, like the media describe them.

here what i want to say, again.

there is no blue ray.
and it look like to me sony and the estate want to provit from this 2 times.
first a dvd, and later a blu ray.

and generally, when i look on all these packages, the prices are much too high.
and who needs this dj mixes?
and i looks like to me the estate and sony destroy a project again, like they did in the past.
they did not learn form the mistakes the made in the past.
they only have a vhs tape from the bad tour? i dont think so.
for me there is some things wrong.

and this i my opinion.

Thank you for your opinion.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Same here. Can't wait!

Does the CD have a shiny element to it? The cover we've seen has a silver outline and I was wandering if it would be in a slipcase. I'm so so so excited for this, I'm out of control! :D :rollin:

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I understand your point, but there is no need to be unthankful. At least we are getting something without a huge logo troughout the screen (LOUNIS).

AND, it's a complete show!

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I would like a poster to frame and put on the wall with my other bad poster. Whatever happened to the poster that was going to be shipped to us as part of the TII package? I hope I get everything I am supposed to get in that Bad case.

You are obviously Sony hater. I will say this again because my post was deleted too. Sony is releasing what Estate gave them to release. There will be no blu-ray because DVD was sourced from Michael Jackson’s personal VHS copy. So there is no point of releasing it on blu-ray when the quality will not be better, there will be just more flaws like Bumper said it.

The Estate said that this is the only copy of that concert that they have. They can not release something that is not in their possession although that is theirs property like will.i.am songs, RedOne songs... or like Cascio songs - they had to buy those songs from them so that they can release them although that was Michael Jackson's property meaning theirs property. There were so much thieves in Michael's life so it's not impossible or weird what Estate is telling. If you wanna blame someone that should not be Sony or the Estate it should be Thome and other who stole from Michael, or Michael himself who didn't take better care of his personal stuff.

We both asked her that at the same time!!!

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Sounds like an awesome release! And not only that, but it looks like I won't have to import the CD single after all (being in the U.S.).

I was thinking that too. All we have to do is find a Walmart.. I am thinking that the dvd will be in good quality at least the best they can do. After all this is an anniversary and they are going all out, so I am keeping happy.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

hehe, there's gotta be someone here who attended that day and knows about it :)

Also some people like remixes (not me) but some people does. DVD is for the fans, live CD and the first disc can be for both the fans and regular public, demos and unheard stuff is for us fans too. So the only thing that is not for the fans are few remixes that were made to attract younger generation and regular public. It's also good marketing because those remixes will be at clubs and that will help with the sales.

If we got only remixes I would agree with you, but we are getting first live MJ album ever, Bad Tour '88 DVD, demos and previously unheard songs!!!

My Mother attended the 14th and 16th (Lucky! :D) and she thinks he did TWYMMF and DD. She made a scrapbook just after the show with a set list and tickets, chewing gum wrappers, newspaper cuttings. I'll check that out and see, she made it directly after the show

Thanks Lorraine, it just gives us more to speculate on and builds up the excitement.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I like the idea of a compilation of performances around the world, to be honest. But edited to appear as one seamless concert. Featuring shots of various crowds and locations.

Or even better, editing together all the Wembley shows together as one (going by the best performances , vocally, and of course not forgetting DD and TWYMMF).
(there being only ONE show the estate/Sony have access too is ludicrous. Blasphemy! :D :D)

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I'll say what I think too :)

To me the most important things was a concert DVD and a previously unreleased songs. They gave us both. We got the Wembley concert that we have been waiting for. So what if the quality won't be the best? They are releasing a show that has been recorded 25 years ago who knows in what condition. I'll take whatever I can get.

Previously unreleased demos in a untouched format is what we wanted as well. I'll rush to Walmart to get the IJCSLY single and I'll cherish the CD of the demos as well. Who cares if they out any remixes with that or not? I care about the demos,if I like the remixes I'll listen and if I don't I'll skip them. Those extra stuff is not a deal breaker for me.

Then we have the first ever live performance audio, two booklets with previously unseen photos and a box. I'm as happy as a person can be. And honestly no debbie downer or sony/estate boycotter can bring me down.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Whoooooooo!!!!!!!
YES!! The great summer starts today with this amazing news.

The estate has now made up for the "Michael album"
This is what you call a release - this is how you keep MJ's legacy going!!!!!

Michael Jackson is the best!!!!

Bring it on.....

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

We could not dream of a better release !

The estate really considered fans expectations on that one:
  1. Second leg bad tour concert
  2. Wembley, considered as one of the best bad tour concert performed
  3. Live CD
  4. 1 CD of UNRELEASED and UNTOUCHED materials

Simply a dream coming true.

Regarding the track list, I remember Birchey posted a while ago (at the time of the Bad Tour release campaign) some high quality snippets of the show.
I still have them on my hard drive and tracklist seems to be (not in performance order):
WBSS
HH
HN
APOM --> missing in the file but that would be surprising
Medley
SC
IJCSLY
SOOML
RWY
WDAN
BI
BJ
DD
BAD
TWYMMF
MITM

They probably read the fans comments and realized the majority wanted a whole concert and not a montage. They gave what the majority wanted, so that is ok. We always say: "why don't they ask us what we want," so they listed and did.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I have a feeling we WILL be seeing Dirty Diana ;) lol, I'm so obsessed with this :D

I need DD! :D

If I remember correctly, those snippets were taken from Bad Tour Around The World documentary, or some documentary. If it was from Wembley, it wasn't necessarily JUST from the 16th.

He DID do DD and TWYMMF at Wembley, but it's still unsure if he did them on the 16th.)

35 euro, in europe.
25 euros would be enough.

cause... i would pay 8 euros for the concert. its only a vhs rip. of course they worked on it. but the source is still a vhs.
so 8 euros is the max i would pay, if i buy it when its released.
bad remastered... I'm very happy with the sound, with the mastering. for me no need.
unreleased songs. i dont know how much unreleased songs are on it. so i cant say much about this. but i would pay 1 euros for each song. so i count 10 euros for the unreleased songs, and the mixes.
and 7 euros for the posters and booklets,...
25 euro. and that is if there are at least 4 or 5 unreleased songs.
