Austin Brown, the nephew of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, premieres his new song 'Menage a Trois' exclusively on AOL Music. The 26-year-old son of Rebbie Jackson, the eldest child of the Jackson family, certainly has some big shoes to fill as he breaks into the music biz. But trust us, this isn't just another case of entertainment industry nepotism -- Brown is the real deal. After listening to his vocals on this new track, we're sure MJ would be proud.

"Valentine's Day seemed like the perfect time to debut my new song 'Menage a Trois,' which is about a love triangle and what happens when you unexpectedly fall in love with two different women at the same time," Brown tells AOL Music. "It's a situation I strongly recommend avoiding if you can help it," he shares with a laugh. We're with you there, Austin!

"Musically, the song was influenced by classic Motown and Stax records. We wanted to create a song that channeled theTemptations and the Four Tops with James Jamerson on the bass," Austin revealed. "I wrote and produced the song with my writing partners Scott Bruzenak and Tommy Parker. The three of us refer to ourselves as the Backpack Kids. We all come from different backgrounds and styles," the young singer explained of his collaborators.

"Scott's a musical chameleon whose musicality ranges from electronic music to classical to free jazz. Tommy is an encyclopedia of music and soul, and I was lucky enough to be born into a family that lives and breathes music," Austin said, referencing the Jackson's musical legacy.

"I've got a deep love of pop music," Brown continues. "And there's nothing like the feeling of having that music love you back. We put all these styles into our backpack to create the sound."

"'Menage a Trois' is my first new song of 2012 and I'm really excited to share it with AOL Music fans first," the singer shares with us. "If you dig it, please check out austinbrown.com -- there's gonna be a lot more coming over the course of the next few weeks!"

A clip of Austin's 'Menage a Trois' music video will premiere tonight on Entertainment Tonight. Tune in at 7:30PM EST to get a first glimpse!

Interesting, I thought the song would have been influenced by his uncles and Alejandra, but he mentions the old school artists. I thought this guy was singing already? Why do they say "as he breaks into the music business?"

I guess saying he's Rebbies's kid wouldn't have the same affect? Damn...not even Janet's nephew? Just Michael's eh?! If MJ is only a "piece" of the Jackson legacy then why is he always the one to have to lead them?

Anywho...I thought his album already came out? o_O He is now goin to compete with Taryll Jackson..oh no! lol I think the song is okay not better IMO then that other song he had previously. But, I do believe he is talented and the better of the new generation of Jacksons since the long days of 3T. Hopefully he does well and be successful on his own?!

I think he is very talented & hope he does well too. I like the song.

Yeah hes been trying to break into the biz for years. I thought maybe four years ago he signed to a major ish label and was recording an album but nothing ever came of it

I don't know, but it just "seems" as if the industry is not taking the guy seriously and in my opinion, it just MAY have something to do with the actions of his family (not all, but certainly many).

Granted, I don't think Austin is all that original, but heck when did that ever stop anything. LOL! I love Bruno Mars, and could have seen Austin out there on that "type" of tip. You know, something a LITTLE different

Oh and I truly believe that they need to STOP calling him "Michael Jackson's nephew." Although he's Michael's nephew, it's obviously not helping his efforts to get ahead in the music business.

I'm also wonder what happened to being signed to a major label, to now releasing his music under his OWN label. What's up with that, I wonder?

"Michael Jackson's nephew." or "Michael Jackson's brother" or ""Michael Jackson's sister.""

This is the bit that really turns me off. Because it smacks of exploitation instead of Letting the product compete on fair terms.

All these people have is their MJ connection, kinda ironic cuz according to TAJ, MJ was ONLY PART of the puzzle, a small part of the bigger picture (the Jackson's).

Yeah, it's very hard to keep the Jackson "legacy" alive when folks don't even call members of the family by their government name, and that includes the brothers. LOL!

It's either Michael Jackson's nephew, or Michael Jackson's brother. Then there are times when ALL of the brothers are just lumped together and are collectively called Michael Jackson's brothers.

I'm still waiting to see an article where they are all described as "Jermaine Jackson's brothers." LOL!

Anyway to get back on topic, I'm not really liking this song. :( I think All I Need was a lot better. Austin is talented so I hope he can get good songs to go with his voice.

I love the song! Took a few listens but it's been stuck in my head since last night.

I just zoned out whilst listening to his song. That can't be too good, lol. It was okay, nothing special, though. On the other hand, he does have a mild resemblance to younger Michael, appearance-wise, which I find endearing. But that wasn't enough to influence my opinion of his song, which was: zzz.

/guys I do not like that siggy that seems to ridicule Michael with all the tabloid negativity.

Siggy actually has the opposite effect, with all the tabloid fodder in black and white behind Michael, as if it were buzzing from flies or other pests, and Michael emerging from it in full colour glory, holding up a sign saying "stop filthy press." I think it's a powerful signature very obviously against tabloid trash.

With that said, that'd be something between you and saveNRG, not exactly a matter of concern in this thread, not that I'm a mod or anything. :p

I like the kid, and he's cute as a basket of kittens, but for some reason, I still don't get the feeling he'll be taken seriously and go megastar, there is still something missing, first some banging bass sounds..., I'd take some MJ moves out too, so he can make his own name, although I'm aware that those moves are an actual part of himself.

Liked the song but was not entirely caught by it. Wish the best t him, he clearly has talent, let's see if it's enough.

janets facebook team has linked to the song not for me in terms of topic so i havent heard it just more of a fyi

Yes, he has everything to make it yet its not working out well, I agree he should try to distance himself from the MJ moves and image, although it may be hard considering he is a Jackson but Janet was able to do it successfully so there is no reason Austin can't find his own unique voice, thats all thats missing here, he obviously has everything else.

Best way for any of them to make it is to do something totally diff ie rock music or acting etc. trying to be a mj sound dance alike aint gonna help. he been tryibg for years to make it and it hasnt happened

^^That's OK since it is not only mods who can give their point of view in this thread.

Is anyone going to buy this song?

Considering he's gonna turn 27 this year, he better hurry the heck up, it's not like time is waiting for him to finally arrive. He's been struggling for many years now. Too many many years.
