MJ would have liked that. He said something like "People used to make albums that contained 1-2 singles, I wanted each and every song to be good enough to be released as a single." before he released Thriller.

If someone have the exact quote from MJ, please post. :lol:

But the more singles the better. ALSO - on HMH there are 4 tracks.

And if all singles would have 3 extra versions of the songs, and maybe even other songs it would be great!
 
AD is beautiful but all the ad-libs I don't like.

It should end at 2:51 IMO. From then till end it offers nothing, just prolongs it to have bigger duration that's all

I agree, I don't like dragged out endings too. I'd rather put some 'boom' sound effect a-la the one in Jam after YUU YEEE YAA YOO DUB DU DEEB (btw why can't we do that? :) )
anyway, the song is really cool and powerful and Michael's vocals in the chorus are flawless! some heavy song like that had to be on the album :punk:
 
Guys i just heard Cey's new Another Day edit and i gotta tell you it got more instruments and his voice is more vivid in this track, its far more better than the original, you'll love it.

The song will drop in about an hour.

It's fantastic!! I love it because it includes the album version guitar riff as well as more instrumentation...I say this because I actually love both the album version and the leaked version the same....This is perfect, cuz it gives it more of a rich sound..The ending is much better than the album version too...

Thank you Semih for sending it. It's a bit too much of a departure for my taste. The horns before the chorus kicks in just sound horrible to me...I think the track just needed a very subtle 'boost' to fill it out a bit as the album version was a bit too barebones.
 
Thank you for sending it. I like it! I can't really compare it to the album version,because I didn't download it.I want to listen to it for the first time when I'll get the album.But I like the mix! :D

Yeah, I'm not as impressed with the horns either....Otherwise, I do like it
 
I enjoy it, but I prefer the album version. That speaking voice has to go, and I'm not too sure how I feel about the horns before the chorus. And I don't like the way Michael's "You're just too much for me" is abruptly cut off at the end for an ending that IMO, doesn't really fit the flow of the song that played before it.
 
First of all big thanks to semih and cey for the new AD edit. Shows how sometimes fans can be more creative than the pros there at Sony, Lenny Kravitz etc (EDIT although Lenny did some great guitar job in there, I have to admit)

My opinion is this:

I really really like the opening and ending of the song.

As for the instrumentation, seems to me it became noisy (too much). As a result it has lost some of its "power" (emotion and dark ambience).

Plus I dislike some of the elements in there (for instance I don't like some brass I am hearing or what an electric guitar plays during the choruses)

okay I heard a fan version that was out after the first snippet of this song leaked. the fan version added some awesome guitars. the new guitars that Lenny added really butcher it if you ask me. I don't like the horns right before the chorus either. I think song has potential to be incredible, but it really sounds kind of butchered. they added too many new sounds.
 
I'm discussing the song with a friend, we both agree that the song just doesn't sound as powerful as the first snippet. We also miss a complete verse by Lenny or them both singing a bridge on the chorus. It misses something.

Could it be that this song is not the final one?

Also...where can i find Lenny's own version of this song? That he put on one of his cds?
 
I'm with all of you. I also think that when the ad lybs which sound like they are potentially from a different song come in, the another day ad lybs should stop playing at that time. the song is too noisy. it sounds like it was awesome and it got butchered.
 
the vocals have been tweaked up a tad, a couple instruments added in to fill the emptyness of the original version, i think you are used to the cd version, which is in my opinion too blank and looped(sounds looped). as for me i like cey's version, and when i listen to the cd version it just feels pale.

I think that is what I am personally hoping. The original snippet felt so anointed and powerful, and I don't feel that as much now. :(
