They did not say no to She Was Loving Me. Michael just stopped working on it because he had started working with Rodney Jerkins on new material and Cory Rooney didn't have time to mix it because he got other projects from Mottola to work on. After Michael recorded the vocals and they made the early version released on Xscape they never worked on the song again. I even doubt that Mottola heard Michael's version. I think he just heard Cory Rooney's demo and he was very pleased with it. But it was his idea in the first place for Cory to write a song for Michael to sing.

At this point I'm simply going to stop this argument dead in its tracks because it has become clear, both in this thread and in a couple in other subforums, that you lack the ability to engage in a respectful conversation. You have a tendency of pissing off members with your hardheadedness and complete refusal to accept that maybe, just maybe, you're wrong about something (which you have been about several things, one of which being exactly when Michael and Rodney Jerkins began collaborating). It's becoming tiresome.

So with that, I end this argument and look forward to the next one you initiate.

Sony didn't reject She Was Loving Me. Oddly enough, Tommy Mottola apparently loved the song.

It was yet another case of Michael shelving a song and never finishing it.

I can say exactly the same for you but I won't because this is a discussion board and I don't want to insult you. But you misunderstood me. Of course I might be wrong, that's not in question at all. I just said that there is no such evidence to point in that direction. I just think it is more plausible that it never happened. And one fan's opinion on another fan forum is not exactly an evidence that something like that happened.

Btw, what was I wrong about when Michael and Rodney began collaborating? That is public information. Rodney talked about it in interviews and Joe Vogel wrote about it in his book. They began collaborating in 1999. Michael invited him to write some songs with him and Carol Bayer Sager at Carol's house. In an interview Rodney even explains how he felt when he first met him. What was I wrong about that?
 
Refering to "she was lovin me" i think michael lost faith in mottola and stopped trusting him that why he shelved it ..JMO

Rodney Jerkins did an interview with Vibe magazine during the Spring of 1999 and said he and Michael had begun working on the new album that was originally scheduled to be released in 2000

Sager was the person who suggested to Michael that Jerkins should be his next producer

Initially, Michael called on Quincy to reunite to "recreate the magic" but Q declined the offer
 
all I know is I want a 3rd documentary... a 4th, 5th, and 6th for that matter.. come on documentary for every era!!!
 
Well we pretty much know Thriller will be next because it's the one Spike Lee wants to do before he calls it a day on his trilogy, so assuming that's next, after that I would be equally happy with a Dangerous or HIStory documentary, I'm gonna give HIStory my vote as Dangerous is doing fine. When Spike Lee is done with Thriller I'm trying to think who would be a great director to do another trilogy?

That was long before problems with Mottola started. Nothing to do with that. I think Mottola even appointed Rooney to make sure that Michael's collaboration with Rodney continues and succeeds.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I wrote. First meeting was at Carol's house. That's why I'm wondering why AlwaysThere said I was wrong on "exactly when Michael and Rodney Jerkins began collaborating".
 
I would like for the next director to change the style up a bit from the Spike Lee format, as much as I love it. Do away with the track by track analysis in favour of a more fly on the wall studio sessions look at the recording process. Let's see Mike and the producers getting frustrated and annoyed at eachother. There were some tiring exhaustive sessions during Dangerous that MJ broke down in tears from exhaustion on its completion. Let us see those types of raw emotional and euphoric moments and pack a directors cut with tons of unseen behind the scenes video footage and live clips of Jam, Black or White and Dangerous with rehearsal footage and throw in snippets of Will You Be There, Heal The World, the awards show performance of Remember The Time, Super Bowl, Oprah interview and shed loads of unseen footage and also talk about outtakes such as For All Time etc.

We discussed it with him already a couple of months ago. BBD heard it on a radio show back in the day. There is absolutely no other source for it than some radio DJ claiming it in 2001. BBD still keeps bringing it up as if it's fact.

The next doc should be done on Thriller, Dangerous, or HIStory, but I'm leaning more toward Dangerous or HIStory because they don't get half as much recognition as they should/deserve.
 
I heard, on a radio station back in 2001, that Quincy denied ever being approached by MJ or his people to "recreate the magic".
 
We don't need a documentary on HIStory unless you guys want to show MJ in the worst possible way. We can't portray our lord and savior in a negative way...NO WAY to HIStory...Please don't let Branca do it we have to show the world that MJ was a god amongst men who fought tirelessly for the needy whilst being an innocent man against the media's aggressive racist and anti-male feminine cacophony of sorts because MJ was a god and he deserves all the fawning over he can (not that he hasn't received already). So I will make another thread and poll whether or not it is a good Idea to expose MJ's negative portrayal during the mid nineties.

MJ was in no way a God or anyone's Lord and savior... He was human..

I would love to see a HIStory documentary..
 
Oh yes, I would definitely love to see either Dangerous or History being talked about a bit more. I do agree that there should be some in the studio snippets in between showing some of the concerts and the hard work everyone put into them. Especially with all that Michael had to deal with, from just the stresses of making the albums to the allegations and trying to fight back on a society that just wants to persecute him. As much as that is a tough subject to see, it was quite admirable all he went through as still stayed strong...still stayed a good man.

Oh my God. I don't think I've ever seen this level of Stan before. It's a new breed.

I have no words to this. All I can put together is that above all else, that may be exactly WHY we need a History documentary. It would be incredible to hear stories of Michael losing his temper in the studio. Posthumous projects for any artist never give us a legitimate peak behind the curtain; everything is biased and puffed up to make the artist seem innocent in the face of all stress. Let's change it up.

But if what has been said in recent years is anything to go by, History would not show Michael at his worst.

oh my god. why do you care? let people be fans the way they want. no one is criticising your way of being a fan/telling you how to be one/commenting on it
