hard to believe this show even kinda matters now. i mean a grammy isn't gonna make or break your career, but it might mean something, but i don't like much of what is getting nominated.

Album of the Year, anybody BUT Lil Wayne... but I think it'll be Lil Wayne

Yeah, that's hard to believe about Mariah. Bitches ain't giving her any love. Her album wasn't great, but niether was anyone elses, so they might as well just give it to whoever's got the talent. The Grammy's don't count for anything anymore anyway.

Ooo, they nominated anthony david feat india arie-- sweet! His album rocks.

nothing's looking good this year compared to last (and we don't need a comparison to two decades ago).

but Coldplay should get the majority here, imo. and i'm glad Jazmine Sullivan was recognised as a new artist, she's pretty talented and deserves to win that.

Theres a serious lack of Mariah .

I'm really not that impressed with that list. But that would be becasue I haven't been impressed with today's music for a long while now.

Thanks for this arx. I'm actually laughing at most of it, especially Beyonce  (and how she managed to get in there with a 4 year old song sung live lmao)

yes and pple didnt believe me when i told them she submitted it lol.

so..Paul McCartney is nominated for "I Saw Her Standing There"? is this the one and the same 'i saw her standing there'? is this not allowed at the grammys? and if it is, what happened to t25?

the record label didnt submit any tracks to be considered for nomination..and the grammys know michael probably wudnt show up anyway lol

Michael Jackson recorded it.

conspiracy.gif

what? i don't understand what u r saying? r u saying that because John Lennon recorded 'i saw her' that it's technically not a beatles song if Paul records it? i ain't goin for it.

i think there are a lot of music historians on this board, and u guys are some..but i am one too. lol..and right now, i have enough info between this and Beyonce and the four year old song to grab the grammys by their throat and never let go. i felt this way before the grammys truly outed themselves, this year. i say they tried to sabotage MJ. u can have one fly in the ointment, or many. it's the same to me. and i don't care what people say, one fly or many, people wouldn't buy the ointment.

u release an album, u have one new song or many...one redo or a remake, or rearrangement. one new song that was written years ago, or written today; the difference being, u know about it vs. u don't know that the song was written years ago. it's not the quantity or the knowledge or lack thereof, it's the principle. if u cheat on me today or twenty five years ago or forty five years ago, and are not sorry, i'll hold it against you the same..and so will many others, whether or not they admit to it.

if t25 were by anybody else, the grammys would give them the best of all worlds..but it's MJ, so they try to give him the worst of all worlds. they're envious. they never need to advertise when he's gunna be on, and i got the feeling over the later years that they were hoping the grammys would be missed when he was on, and when he wasn't going to be on, they spent a fortune on advertising, cus they were right to have the feeling the program would get low ratings sans him and high ratings with him. and they hate being upstaged by him. and they're more bitter than ever, today, and in their attempt to hurt him, they have hurt themselves. and now, karma has come back to them. they suck. they're illegitimate. and, i'm afraid i have to admit that usa media has given me a bit of tunnelvision, where i was made to think that a usa award is the best award in the world to get. well..now, my eyes are opened. the more legit awards are outside the usa. i don't care what anybody says in reaction to this post...i'd be willing to go to vegas and bet that i'm right. right now, they're advertising ad nauseum for this year's grammys, and they even had a special that they never had before. a pre grammys 'celebration' where they announced the noms, live on the paid for broadcast. in my view it still won't help their ratings next year. between them and the american charts, they cheated MJ. McCartney releases this new album and it hits the regular charts. t25 gets released and it's on a catalogue chart. as far as i'm concerned. if 'i saw her standing there' is on the regualr charts along with that album, it should be on a catalogue chart. and, lol, if u want to know why i think so, u'll just have to reread my post. lol. i'm willing to gamble that MJ doesn't go and do another project without the intent of getting a grammy nod, considering the timing of the release of t25 and everything..and i know he's been in the business long enough to know the grammy rules, which have now become 'rules'(subject to change on behalf of anti MJ conspiracy)

having said all that, arxter, i like ur smileys. lol.

oh thanks, well that was supposed to be a conspiracy smilie following my 'anti-MJ Grammys' JOKE, lol.

but michael or sony didnt submit any tracks to be nominated lol

prolly wouldn't have made a difference..lol. after all, Paul's new album is on the regular charts, here in the usa. and his new albums, like HIStory, Invincible and stuff, i bet they were submitted, back then.

awwwwwwwwwwwww...........I miss the old school grammys :(

lol..i don't. i ain't letting the grammys spoil the idea of rewarding someone..lol
I've never gotten the point of giving a trophy. It's just a markeing gimmick. Such & such singer/movie/TV show got an award, so people go out to buy it or watch it to see what it is about. There's thousands of albums released each year and I seriously doubt that someone listened to all of them. The only things that are nominated are the albums that sold the most that year (except the stuff that's never shown on the TV broadcast, such as best spoken word album or Native American album). I don't listen to any of that, so it means nothing to me, and I never watch it. Award shows are just ego fests. If you think awards are serious, remember 2 words - Milli Vanilli.

well milli vanilli is the fault of people, not the trophy. to me, seeing MJ getting recognized like that, in the past was always better than him getting lambasted.
