Well here's some things I've done personally, that I guess counts me as obsessed

*Buying the Architectural Digest, just to read that one article about Michael, not even reading the rest of it.

*Dancing every night to his music, and getting really pissed and upset that one time I forgot to charge my iPod up.

*Being called several times by your dad as a fanatic fan, or being called Michael's #1 fan by your mom.

*Talking to Michael every night about mundane silly things

*Imagining scenarios about spending time with Michael like marrying him, or going to Neverland, or being rescued by him, or knocking on his door saying you have to use the restroom so you can get into his house, or any other possible fantasy you can think of. (I do this a lot)

*You've started writing fanfiction and making comics about him

*Saying "sometime" instead of "sometimes" (haven't done this yet, but just wait...)

*Imagining that you are him sometimes

*Eating his favorite foods, like KFC

*Putting his favorite songs in your iTunes

*Watching YouTube videos of him for many hours during the day, even the same clips over and over

*Going one day without Michaeling gives you some serious withdrawal symptoms

*Smiling or laughing like him (not sure if I'm consciously aware of it)

I'm sure there's other stuff, but that's probably good enough for now. I also have things in common with Michael that have nothing to do with being obsessed with him. It's just how I am. Like not wanting to drink, smoke, do drugs, can't drive. Being in love with childlike things, and having a desire to change the world in some way.

I can totally relate to the stuff on facebook. Yep, I'm obsessed.

Also when my someone is asking general life questions like "oh why do boys brea our hearts" I just HAVE to sing " why, why tell them that its human nature" drives my firends mad

Maybe bc you've already gone mad. And you want to bump every single thread and you want to bump every single comment within each thread and you forget which amazing comment you've seen in which particular thread and you run around the board like a mad person trying to find stuff that you KNOW YOU HAVE SEEN and then your head blows up like Mount Krakatoa and ...

... it all ends in exhaustion and chocolate, lol.

... when you have a busy day and go a couple of hours without listening to MJ, or looking at him, or talking about him, and you actively miss him.
... when you not only follow as many threads as possible on MJJC, but you also follow stan Twitter accounts, the sub/reddit, check in on TikTok videos, have a YouTube subscription list of almost entirely MJ related accounts, and participate in multiple private and public MJ facebook pages and still it is not enough.
... when you have multiple private conversations going with MJ fans around the world, each focusing on different elements of your MJ obsession so that at any given point you know what specific person you can share what random MJ thought with and know they will understand and be about it.
... when you try to get every person in your life to love Michael as much as you do.
... when you get literal butterflies from looking at pictures of him
... when almost everything reminds you of him in some way
... when you read this thread and relate to basically everything everyone says lol.

My husband bought me like 100 MJ stickers for my birthday (yes, I am 34 years old lol) and I covered my iPhone with them and out a clear case over it and I think it's amazingly cool lol.

"sure he was good and all but no one could teach him anything... he couldn't pick up new moves AT ALL..."

and I wrote (in thick red ink) all over the page...

"this simply isn't true... have you seen the Black or White music video as he dips in and out of different styles of dance? Have you seen during the Making of Thriller when they are talking about how he took no time at all to pick up routines that other professional dancers needed more time with? What about in The Wiz? What about, etc. etc. etc...."

Not only that. I woke up, fell back asleep, and then dreamt I was a production assistant on the Black or White Music video. Of course Michael wasn't there. Of course he wasn't. My 'dream' self was punishing me for not having better 'dream' students.

Fair point and one I take very seriously. I can barely make any sense of my own brain some days. Man I've never seen anyone call Michael an "overrated dancer" lol, not even people who criticize other aspects of his artistry (or even him as a person). Generally speaking, pretty much everyone I've met who has an interest in dance, they absolutely love Michael Jackson. Then again, dreams are just absolutely wacky like that sometimes, lol.

And God, that second dream... I believe I already told you about that dream I had where I almost traveled back in time to meet Michael, to apologize to him and tell him I loved him, only to then wake up by my alarm before I even went, right? Aargh!! Pure agony. I need better dreams, lol.

To get back on topic:
Honestly, Michael is on my mind constantly as of late, and that to me is already a sign of my obsession lol. Like, I've been dealing with seasonal depression which absolutely sucks, but during the very few clear moments I have in my head, I usually think about Michael and then I feel a bit better. It's not a cure, but it helps!

I also often think, "what would Michael do?" or "what would he think of this?" To me, my love for him is so much more than just his music, his dancing, his fashion sense, his attractiveness... Like yes, those are all very, very important to me! 100%, I could talk about them for days. But I'm also just very obsessed with the man underneath it all. It's why I absolutely hate it when so-called "fans" believe the smears about him being mean, or a narcissist, or anything like that, because from what I've seen and read about him, he was the absolute opposite. For example, what supposed narcissist would anonymously donate to charities despite being extremely famous? A real narcissist would make an entire public spectacle about that just to make themselves look good, and not because they actually care about the cause. They're also much more likely to be fraudulent with the donations. But, you get the idea.

I guess my willingness to defend Michael at all costs is part of my obsession, lol. Fair criticism is no problem; I don't always agree, but I don't get angry about it. But smears, I do not tolerate.

Oh God yes. I said this on another thread recently, but in the forum I tend to focus on the fun positive elements of my love for and fascination with him. But my actual love for him goes DEEP. I compare it to how I feel about my actual loved ones. I feel him in my soul. And I care about his heart and his soul more than anything else about him. His humanity is everything to me. I really can't imagine just caring about his music, or his looks, or whatever. Like I can "manhood" all day every day and never grow weary, but that is only a sliver of my actual feelings. So I completely get what you're saying.
