Drake’s new song paying tribute to the King

Lets just put it this way, yes some of us are still upset with Drake (I am upset in the previous freestyle song he had last month and he got a backlash for throwing shade at MJ); however, despite my feelings, I am glad Drake brought this song out which is getting great hits. Like someone said, Drake did not have to do it but he did and it is done to show respect for MJ. Maybe Drake like others are seeing what we have been saying.

I'm thinking about create a short dance video to this song, pay a tribute to the king's dance :D

Re: free speech

There's no such thing as free speech. The only thing free speech means is that the US government is not supposed censor what people say. But a private business or organization can censor anything they want. That's why you can't have profanity on regular broadcast television or on regular free radio stations. The FCC is involved with censoring that. Live programs like award shows usually have a slight delay so they can catch what people say and bleep it out. On this site and others, mods can delete comments if they don't follow the rules or they can ban posters. Les Moonves was able to get Janet Jackson blacklisted after the Superbowl thing and the Dixie Chicks got banned from country radio stations after the Dubya comments.

Absolutely. True free speech doesn't exist in any country.

Well said and the biggest example of that, considering we are on a Michael Jackson forum, is the censoring of They Don't Care About Us, due to the "offensive" lyrics of the original version. Free Speech is nothing but a big myth and doesn't exist.

Tell that to family guy, south park, and other adult cartoons. also trump and usa as a whole. but i get what you saying though. though my free speech was an opinion to a song i don't like. not something to with human rights etc.

Drake aka "no one cares about him outside the US"
I don't understand how people can listen to his music, even 6ix9ine is a better artist than him

LOVE Ciara!!

Well, MJ worked for Drake's songs. IT IS NUMBER ONE on Billboard.

Just now heard, it is number one request song on my local radio station. GREAT JOB. Listening to it now.

Drake is only so big right now because he does rap (or CRAP, as I like to call it) and that is the most popular genre amongst the young people. I heard this song, and it's so bad. Boring mumble jumble monotonous vocals with heavy auto tune. The fact that someone like him is so huge right now either tells me that people have zero taste in music or there is something seriously wrong with the music industry.

drake is one of the worst artists out there.
I've no idea how he is able to sell his sh*t.

boring production and vocals.

I hate drakes humming voice. All his music sounds the same & I'm burnt out on him!

She pregnant again? well congrats to her.

What songs? when did Drake came out because he wasn't always a solo artist. he use to be with Niki manj and lil wayne back in the day. i doubt Michael had anything to with him back in the day.

I don't hate drake. i don't hate anyone. i like some of his early songs. just because you don't like a song by someone doesn't mean you hate them.

The music industry already has something wrong. look at all the auto tunes we have nowadays. my guess they trying to target the young people. music really isn't the same anymore. i hardly listen to the radio anymore.

Also we still auguring about this? let it go. face the fact not everyone like drake or the song. why are we auguring about what we like and don't like? we all have opinions.

While i do not like the song. it's makes me glad that the older generation are showing the younger generation that this the Moonwalk not the tootsie slide. drake should of called the Moonwalk. it wouldn't hurt. i think....

Drake has always been a solo artist. He and Nicki Minaj and other artists was signed to Lil Wayne's record label "Cash Money Records" They have a couple of collaborations together as is normal for label mates.

I didn't know that. thanks for pointing that out.

I still don't understand why Drake is popular? He doesn't really rap and when he does it's lacklustre and he can't really sing. His songs always just feel like background music to me
I don't get why he's so big

I don't know either. maybe the young people like him. lol. i guess they trying to target them more.

crews

when did Drake came out because he wasn't always a solo artist. he use to be with Niki manaj and lil wayne back in the day.
They weren't really a group. More of a hip hop collective/clique called Cash Money. These crews are usually associated with a particular record label, a rapper, or a hip hop producer. In a few cases, they might have a gang background like bloods/crips. They're solo acts who might sometimes make songs together or appear in each others music videos. Like these other ones

Bad Boy: Puff Daddy, Mase, Notorious B.I.G., Lil Kim, etc.
Dungeon Family: OutKast, Goodie Mob, Sleepy Brown, Cool Breeze, etc.
Death Row: Dr. Dre, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, etc.
Screwed Up Click: DJ Screw, Fat Pat, Lil Flip, Big Pokey
Def Jam: LL Cool J, early Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, EPMD
No Limit: Master P, Mia X, Mystikal, Lil Romeo, etc.
Native Tongues:
De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Monie Love, Jungle Brothers, Queen Latifah (she later started her own crew called Flavor Unit which included Naughty By Nature)
Swishahouse: Chamillionaire, Paul Wall, Slim Thug
Nelly had the St. Lunatics
Eminem had D12

Ah. now i get it. thanks.

I think we can agree on one thing. He is getting younger generations interested in MJs music. That's what matters.
