Zapp and Roger

Roger troutman used autotones a long time ago, yes. He also used them in California Love. Remember that one? Some things are better when used sparingly.:D

Roger didn't use autotune, but a talk box. Talk box was 1st used by Stevie Wonder and Joe Walsh of the Eagles, but Peter Frampton kinda made it famous to the mainstream. Midnight Star used a vocoder. Talkbox, vocoder, and autotune are all different things.

Ok, sorry! You live you learn. Thanks! I know better now. :)

I LOVE them..I was watchin their Unsung episode on TVone and it was so sad that Roger's brother, Larry, killed him and then committed suicide.."Computer Love" and "I Wanna Be Your Man" are my jams!

Roger was a Badd Multi Instrumentalist and a tight Live performer. i've seen dude rock on a Guitar, Keyboard and turn a Banjo out. he was very musical and understood groove.

he cut a Blues album back in 1984 with Sugarfoot the guitar player of the ohio players. Roger was a tight Musician.

Roger and Zapp

In addition to being a huge Prince Fan, I am also a fan of Roger and Zapp. did anyone see Roger with Zapp when He was alive. I saw this ZAPP AND ROGER UNSUNG back in november of 2009 and I WAS AMAZED at it when I first saw it and I told Lester Troutman (original drummer) when I saw their concert with Shirley Murdock last year and it was FABULOUS. The Troutman signed most of my albums and encouraged me to keep learning guitar....WHAT A GREAT CONCERT.
anyway...here are the ZAPP AND ROGER unsung links:

what he did, was cool. i liked it. music can be versatile..you just have to know what you're doing. it's easy for me to think his brother was envious of him.

I don't know where I heard it but I heard More Bounce To the Ounce was one of Michael's favorite songs.
