This is just a shadow of Michael (same as on the white curtains he used for TWYMMF, Heartbreak Hotel and Smooth Criminal). That is why Michael is twice as big as the other dancers.

The camera can make you invisible or opaque. It is just a setting that they can use, even on DSLRs you can do it. It is fun. Technology has come a long way.

I would guess that the image is back projected onto a skrim and they are standing in front of a secondary light source. So, what you are seeing is their actual shadows cast onto the screen.
