well today i was hanging out with friends at school and we were saying who were some of our favorite female artists and i said janet and some didn't know her and i said she was mj's sister and then they start going off about how she can't sing and about being a wash up and accused her of copying beyonce's videos and style excuse me but didn't beyonce said mj and janet was a big influence for her

Those people must be living in LaLa Land, Janet came before Beyonce. These are the people who think that Justin Timberlake is the new King of Pop. (I have seen dumb people who have to nerve to say this bullshit:doh:)
 
Wow... that's almost unbelieveable to me that she doesn't know Janet. OMG, I almost feel sorry for her. But these prejudges really bug me.

That's why I don't like it that much when artists imitate MJ or JJ too much. I'm happy when they honour them, but when they start to copy them, things like you mentioned, happens. Means that younger people think that the artists of the nowadays pop music are sooo innovative because they don't know the originals.

Oh and before someone tells me that MJ/JJ had they influences too... I know that ;) :p
 
I was on the Beyonce Message Board and they bash Janet really bad and said that Janet's video, "Make Me", was inspired by Single Ladies..and that Janet is a "has-been" and that she is famous because of Mike..they say that Mike is the only relevant Jackson..Some of them said that Beyonce was better than MJ and JJ which is a lie because she steals from MJ and Janet and it shows in her live performances..MJ in particular..and that's why I hate going on that Message board..they throw shade at a lot of artist that came before her..which is pretty disrespectful and wrong..They say that she has surpassed Madonna as the Queen of Pop as well..which is a lie..

I guess these people don't know or remember the 80s and 90s. Janet was a big success way before Beyonce was ever heard of. They all copy Michael and Janet. It's very obvious. I am not bashing Beyonce. I think she is nice and shows a lot class but sometimes it seems she is shaking around and wearing nothing when she sings. I really like the songs that focus on the songs and not what she is wearing. I hope this is coming across right.

Also, don't get me started on Bey's albums. Creatively, musically and lyrically, Janet is better than her. It's too bad that my generation is just so stale...

All genres of music are going down the drain save for some few honest performers... and most of them are underground. Sucks! :(

my sis has no idea why Janet's a star either but she's only 13 and Janet hasn't been popular in Europe at all for a decade now.. so I can't even blame her. But I do try to educate her when it comes to music

lol..i was watching Mike's arm movements in that Jam concert footage and they were precision breathtakers, and Beyonce looked like she was trying to swat a fly in comparison. lol
 
yeah i hate when they that janet's just trying to compete with the young females artists right now and need to stay at home and have kids how disrespectful can they be, most of these artist today music is for the moments in the next 30 years do u think people are going to celebrate these catchy club songs no, but hey let it be

by the way did anybody watch mj day on vh1, vh1 classics and fuse aweeeesoooome i loved it soooo much this bought me closer to him in a way talking about the amazing things he did and that why true legends never die because the legacy itself have a life of its own :)

LMAO. Wow I really hate my generation..

A lot of kids now are saying those kind of things about older artists. I've heard it said about Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, etc. Yeah, shocking. It amazes me how people can say these things because most artists, if not all, today are influenced by those "wash ups" from past decades. They just don't understand how important and influential artists like Michael and Janet are in the music industry.

As for Beyonce, she does nothing for me...haha.
