Why did Sony redub Michael's singing in This is it?

I heard it was because the original audio was too bad of a quality to release. So, they overdubbed it.

Wow, I've never noticed that he sang Billie Jean live in the trailer! So this probably means that he would have sung this song live at the concerts - I always thought that it would have been playback just like in the movie!

Not neccesarily, MJ always did his rehearsals 100% live. just look at the Dangerous Tour Rehearsals, everything was live but the actual tour had a little bit lipsynching. But it would def been great if he would have done it live
