Why are people not allowed to upload the dvd on youtube??

Technically, you're not supposed to upload anything that is copyrighted, unless you're the copyright owner. It's against the law. Some companies have Web Sherriff or other types of programs that senses what is uploaded and blocks it.

^^^^^^If it is an official release, then it's copyrighted. Sony just chooses not to block it. Some companies like NBC, Viacom, or Warner Brothers block more heavily than others like Motown.
