I thought he gave up white socks in the 5 years, I didn't see it.. or may be he still use white socks during these year but the photo didn't show.

Definitely a white socks in This is it trailer. Did he think of it as his stage signature, that's why he use it again? Anyone know story behind white socks?

Didn't he say that you could see his footwork better when he used white socks? Or was that the glittery ones? :scratch:
 
that was the glittery ones he was trying in Thriller rehearsals. But I still think that the white socks were for the same reason too. They did stand out. Look at Billie Jean when the lights are dimmed, you still see the socks!
 
I will miss those white socks - no one wears them better

Those socks were so in fashion when I was a kid. I had them in every color :lol: They were called USA socks over here for some reason. Hehe, good times... I miss Mikey.. :wub:
 
the closest thing I have to white socks is white leg warmers :lol:

He isn't into fashion, though stealin from the runway ya won't know that now.

yes true about Jermaine's part. I find it quite funny actually, cause he didn't take them off, or atleast, we didnt see him the years after it without them! :D I think Jermaine meant that it wasn't ''cool'' or something I don't remember really, to wear white socks that time. Older people wore them, probably.
 
lol My dad is always wearing white socks with his black loafers. He isn't trying to copy MJ though he just finds it easier to just put on some white socks and slip on his loafers. What's funny is that his pants are always hiked up so he does look like he's trying to look like MJ.

I used to get teased in school for wearing white socks and black shoes. This was before I was a full blown MJ fan so I wasn't copying him, but people would call me Michael Jackson. I like white socks! lol

It's kind of you should wear a black socks when you wear a black trouser... white socks are only for sneakers stuff like that. Imagine if a guy dress in pant suit with white socks to work. So i was wondering what was he thinking. As you said he knew, I guess he did it because it's his signature, even when disguise he wore white socks? If you look at his photos in the past few years, you didn't see a white socks.. and he dress much more mature and neat.. I really like him wear normal suit. Looks really good on him.
