...do you use to make banners, siggys, etc? I know Photoshop, for one, but what else is out there? Anything really cheap or free?
If anyone could help me out on this, I'd appreciate it! I have some ideas for some family pictures/memorials and stuff with celebs, and I'd like them to come to fruition at some point.

Maybe you can try Gimp. Its exactly the same as photoshop but its free.

Around 100MB and it adds on when you install more brushes.

Paint Shop Pro is really good

for animated gifs you can use avd video processor to edit videos and turn it to gif, then with jasc animation shop you can edit the gifs. I was using these programs years ago ancient history lol maybe there are other programs more sophisticated now

When I had made my signature I use these programs:

Microsoft Paint
Photo Suite 4.0

And I went in to this site:

I've only used Paint on Microsoft. But now I have my own laptop, and it's a Mac.

Paint.NET is a pretty good programme. It's not as advanced as Photoshop but if you're just starting out or want to create some simple graphics then it's a great programme.
