Less so his singing and composition, but the work of his production chops.

I hear plenty of influence of Invincible in modern world, hip hop especially. Darkchild in general was a huge name in the production game.

And of course Quincy collabs. Everyone has attempted OTW and Thriller vibes.

Listen to Weeknd's "I Feel It Coming" or Bruno Mars "Finesse". You'll get it.
I mean, I hear it, Feel It Coming is very, breezy like Off The Wall. Reminds me more of Daft Punk though, by design. Finesse is very New Jack Swing but it's kinda like New Edition. I honestly don't hear so much Dangerous.

Vocally they're very close of course but that's not what I'm talking about.

Here's some songs I was thinking of:

This song sounds just as breezy and carefree as Rock With You. The strings, the rhythm guitar, and the one two beat. It's infectious.

This song, Everytime I hear it. Sounds so Y2K. Takes me right back to Darkchild and Heartbreaker. Everyone says that song invented dubstep and, sure, maybe. But it's still Y2K and you always can tell when that's there, and Michael definitely did wanna tap into that vibe in concept.

I'd like to think that Chappell Roan has some MJ influence in terms of music and some of her fashion ideas. Would have been amazing to hear them on a track.

Not sure if all of this comes from bias, seeing as I'm very into her work right now LOL!

I looked her up before, she hasn't mentioned MJ once. It seems like she doesn't recognize him.

This may sound an unusual answer but I find Michael’s production influence in European dance music. Michael is well loved and respected in Europe, so it’d be no surprise some nice-sounding dance music is influenced by MJ.

I do like this answer. I'd agree actually! You can hear that everywhere in Dance Music.

Can you give some recommendations? You can also make a thread on "Anything goes..." so that the distraction here is not sidetracked.

There’s an Italian dance band name Eiffel 65, they were really famous in the late 90s/ early 00s. They dressed in spacesuits and performed with CGI characters in their music videos - definitely a nod to Michael’s HIStory look.

Also the Danish dance band Aqua - who made Barbie Girl - their music is whimsical and nods to the wonder of childhood, like Michael’s music.

A more recent example of MJ-inspired dance music is Meduza ("Lose Control”).

OK, these bands’ productions are not exactly the same of Michael’s, but it is strongly suggested. European dance acts generally talk positively of Michael Jackson.
