Interested in seeing what you guys think are some of the best covers out there?

Personally I'm a big fan of Johnny Cash covering NIN 'Hurt' and The White Stripes doing Dolly Parton's 'Jolene'.

:)

Otis Redding originally did Respect, but I like Aretha Franklin's version better.
The remakes of The Isley Brothers "For The Love Of You" by Whitney Houston & Joss Stone are nice.
En Vogue's cover of "Yesterday" by The Beatles is great, as well as Jose Feliciano's cover of Stevie Wonder's "Golden Lady" and I also like "Light My Fire" that he does with Minnie Riperton. I don't really care much for the original version by The Doors though.
Another good one is "She's Leaving Home" by Syreeta which was originally by The Beatles.
I like the different versions of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Creedence Clearwater Revival, & Roger Troutman.

^^ yeh, Aretha's version is classic!

Must say, I also prefer Urge Overkill's version of Girl You'll Be A Woman Soon over Neil Diamond's original

"Sadie" by R. Kelly, originally by The Spinners
"A Song for You" by Donny Hathaway, originally by Leon Russell
"China Girl" by David Bowie, originally by Iggy Pop
"Georgia on my Mind" by James Brown, originally by Ray Charles
"Nature Boy" by James Brown, originally by Nate King Cole
"Sunny" by James Brown, originally by Bobby Hebb
"You've Got a Friend" by Donny Hathaway, originally by Carole King

etc.

I have a lot. Some are straight-up covers and others are more re-imaginative.

Frank McComb's cover of Stevie Wonder's "Golden Lady" is tops.
Eric Benet's cover of "Superwoman" with Boney James is jazzy and really upbeat.
Az Yet's cover of Peter Cetera's "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" is nice.
I love all the cover Seal does on his "Soul" album.
Smokey Robinson & The Miracles version of "Hey Jude" is my favorite version.
J5's cover of Smokey's "Who's Loving You" is the definitive version.
Ruben Studdard's cover of "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" I actually like more than both Al Green and The Bee-Gees.

I could go on and on.
