I guess the "new" album he was working on with will.i.am in the studio was "Thriller 25"?

I'm not really sure what you are asking, but there has been no official word on MJ's album. All we do know is that he is working in the studio on it.

with him and One new duet with AKON was
just leaked .. but that will be on AKOns album

We don't know the release date of the album.
We only know he is still in the recording studio working.
Various collaborators like will.i.am., Ne-yo, John Legend and others are heard to be working with him.
Ne-yo even said himself that he is helping writings songs for MJ's new material, and that MJ's being very selective and picky about it.
So overall Michael wants this project to keep it on the down low UNTIL he is ready.
Then we will know more info. :yes:

Eight song sketches were conjured out of phone conversations, then we met up in Ireland for a week and finished three ideas. We tracked one song--the running title is "I'm Dreamin'."
He just said, "Great melodies." In January we'll spend a month together. I want it to sound like Off the Wall for today. He's been really open to ideas. But as far as his vocal abilities are concerned, he's still killing everybody.

The studio, it’s incredible. The sound is amazing and so is Las Vegas. I love Las Vegas. We get a lot of peace of mind in Las Vegas. It’s very nice. It feels good working in Vegas. It’s very convenient, so close to L.A. It’s like a dream world that helps you musically and creatively.
