Was the inspiration for this piece from a real photo?

I found this digital painting while browsing deviantART a while back and I fell in love with it. I think the artist did such an incredible job! Anyway, I was wondering if anybody knew, is this from a real photo of Michael? If so, do you have a link to where I can see it? It's possible this just came from the artist's own imagination, and I even asked him, but I have yet to receive a response. I've also seen many other fan art pieces using this "pose"- so I don't know if they drew their inspiration from a real shot or if they maybe just turned to this piece as their inspiration.
