i have listened to quite a few Asian born Artists and this part of Freddie Mercury's ehtnic background is rarely spoken off and about. if you have other Asian Born Artists you feel are as important as Freddie Mercury feel free to chime in, i just wanted to know if you thought he was the Greatest Asian Artist ever?

I think he was. Raj Kapoor, the renowned Indian film actor, producer and director, however, I think is the most mentioned. Like you said, Mercury's ethnic background is rarely spoken about and many may not even know he was Asian of origin, Farrokh Bulsara was his real name and his parents were Parsis; most of his childhood, he spent it in East India. He may be the greatest British artist ever, though, since he'd later live there, and was lead vocalist of the famous British band, Queen.

He may be the most popular one but it's hard to say if he was the best or not. There's another entire world of pop/rock music in China and Japan, for instance - artists that I personally have never heard of but could very well be as good or even better than him, who knows?

Well he was definitely the best Indian artist out there, whose family happened to belong to the Zoroastrian (Parsi) community.

That's lil' Freddie as a child
