I am not sure if it's the artists that count or the particular songs...

#10 - Ottawan - D.I.S.C.O.
# 9 - Mike - Don't Stop Till You Get Enough
# 8 - Earth Wind and Fire - Boogie Wonderland
# 7 - Donna Summer - Bad Girls
# 6 - Sister Sledge - The Greatest Dancer
# 5 - Abba - Dancing Queen
# 4 - That Le Freak C'est Chiq song lol
# 3 - Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive
# 2 - Bee Gees - Staying Alive
# 1 - Village People - YMCA

I kinda agree with this even though Mike isn't on top...those are some great disco songs lol

Ah, the days of disco. The memories, the memories. Those songs are truly classics. Whenever I go to "Back In Time", those songs always get a great response!

I've never heard of #10, neither the song or group. In that spot I would have put either:

Shame ~ Evelyn "Champagne" King
Ring My Bell ~ Anita Ward
Boogie Oogie Oogie ~ A Taste Of Honey
I'm Your Boogie Man ~ KC and the Sunshine Band
TSOP ~ MFSB featuring The Three Degrees
Disco Inferno ~ Trammps
Ladies Night ~ Kool and the Gang

eh, it's okay. I don't really consider Mike as the number one king of disco...and I don't know if I really want to, too. :D

That's a pretty good list. I don't know the number 10 one or the Donna Summers one - I will have to check them out. I love Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough.

This was my jam (even though I was 7 or 8 when it came out). Neil Rogers was one of writers. They could not get into Club 54 and they went back to the studio to write this song. This was "roller skating" music that I use to skate to.

Would squeeze Ring My Bell ~ Anita Ward in the chart as well. Ring My Bell was played frequently along with Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive.

I think that is the one where they go:

"Awwwwwwww.........FREAK OUT!
Le Freak, C'est Chiq"

but then again, I could be wrong.............................

Well maybe because this song came out in the 1970s. The drummer for Chic - Tony Thompson, in the 80s hooked up with John & Andy Taylor from Duran Duran and Robert Palmer to form the group Power Station.

if it was me i'd put, in no particular order:

1. Freak Out- That chic song
2. Lets Groove tonight- EWF
3. I Will survive- Gloria
4. Get Down Tonight- KC and sunshine Band
5. shake Your Groove Thing- peaches & herb
6. Jungle Boogie- Kool & the gang
7. Boogie shoes- KC & sunshine band
8. Car Wash- Rose Royce
9. staying alive- Bee Gees
10. You should be dancing- bee Gees

Mike (DSTYGE) should have been WAY higher on this list (top 5), and the BeeGees should have been at #1. THEY were the true Kings of disco, for sure! :D And "Staying Alive" is like a staple disco song. It's like THE disco song.
