I get what ur saying. But, in a way...a big way J5 did die when MJ passed. He was the lead singer without him the Jackson five is no more. MJ was the WHOLE group!

Anyways, I'll be checking this special out hope is good?. It would be nice that MJ get's recognized as the child prodigy that he was aswell. It shouldn't be all about thriller 24/7 he was way more then that. The same should be done for his work after thriller too!

Well, as I see it...since crazy Jodi Gomes is the one plugging this ish..it will be a way for the brothers to get their shine & free publicity for their various projects.

Gomes is friends with Don Lemon...how much do you wanna bet this will be PR for the brothers?

Yea...More then likely it will be?! Gomes was the producer of that A&E Jacksons reality show right?!

Yes...and she was the one impersonating Marlon on Twitter until Halima & Jermaine outed her.

She has been smooching off the Jacksons since they became somewhat relevant again...meaning since their beloved brother's passing.

WTH? o_O Now I understand that tweet from Jermaine telling people not to follow that username anymore. Crazy!

J5 is what got me into Michael in the first place. I was more a J5 fan growing up than a MJ fan. But I fell in love with Michael the person soon after. I'll be watching the special.

A J5 special on CNN in June......why now? hopefully they won't be going the 'sad child star turned tragic' angle.....'cause they can actually produce something on the J5 that is actually informative and entertaining, but with CNN you just never know.

^ Agreed! It seems like every special on the J5 always goes with the, "behind the happy smile, there was a troubled boy...." etc etc. I mean, we're all pretty aware of Michael's childhood. But if you're going to do a show on the J5 - and not the FAMILY - at least talk about the music side of things and give us some insight into Motown.

This is so bothersome, yeah....

June.... probably because of the death anniversary. :( Will it be shown on the 25th?

The Jackson 5 special sounds cool, Michael was a huge part of the J5 being the lead singer so this is VERY relevant to Michael Jackson. I hope they show some unseen footage and i'd love to hear stores about the creative process of the brothers specifaclly Michael as a child even though motown prevented that professionally. Vocally I think The Jacksons 1976 album is one of Michael's best, his teenage years are so overlooked even by many fans. Michaelw as an icon before Thriller, he has so many great songs many people aren't aware about. Also They should release the J5 cartoon and the jackson variety show it's gold.

I agree, i hope not either. Michael's life was not a tragedy, his death was but i'd love to focus on the the postives and his creativity.

I didn't even know I had a channel called Current TV! lol I rarely watch TV. So I just miss the MJ special when I went to check it out. I will have to wait to see it at 12am then! Thx

The show Michael Jackson's Dark Side of Hollywood was aired at the beginning of this year, and I have some crappy quality clips saved from youtube. It's no longer available on youtube. It's not negative towards Michael, but I'm not sure how accurate some of the things discussed in it are...

They call that trash 'celebration'?

That crap is one of the worst films in history. Ridiculous. Trash.

HLN Channel 30 on Comcast cable right now is showing a J5 special and interviewing Tito! It seems to be positive talking about the impact the J5 had and the Empire the J5 built! Of course they will talk about MJ as a solo artist as well! Gee... I'm kinda surprised... would have like a special like this yrs ago! I will have to catch the repeat since I missed the beginning! It repeat again at 2am & 4am eastern time! Not sure if the CNN J5 special will be the same has this one? Since HLN is the sister ch to CNN?!

Edit: The HLN J5 Special is only the first 30mins the special is called: Real star stories. They now talking about someone else for the other half hr.

By the way Comcast on Demand have MJ special docs for $2.99 if anyone haven't seen them yet?!
