Hey all,
On VH1 Classic right now, they're showing the movie, The Jacksons:An American Dream. I just thought I'd let you know.
 
lol I wish they'd release this on DVD in the UK... :(

Do you have a VCR player? If you want, the next time this comes on, I will tape it(without commercials, LOL) and I'll send you the tape if you would feel comfortable pming me your address. Let me know.

When you said 5 hours I thought they were just replaying it. But dear lord, it's actually 5 hours! I don't know if I have the will power to watch it, 25 parts on YouTube is alot LOL.
 
Canada has tons of MJ stuff going on. The A Channel has been playing Man In The Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story all night. MUCH More Music had his Bucharest Tour on at 6pm-8:30. Then MUCH music has it on at 9. Then there is BET which has been playing MJ shows non stop pretty much since Thursday. More are scheduled for tomorrow!

I hate that film. Flex is usually a good actor but I thought he was a bit 'creepy' in that.

omg it was sooooooooooooo long, it was good, thank god for DVR!
 
I'll just watch a few parts every now and again, 5 hours is waaay to long for a film.
 
Its been on quite a few channels all day. TVOne, VH1...and I swear there was a third but I can't think of it. Its going to be on TVOne again tonight at 1am eastern time. They are showing the entire movie.

But if you don't get to see it don't worry. One its on youtube, two its been shown a lot lately.
 
So, is it an actual documentary about them or are the family played by actors and stuff? I'm a bit too busy to watch any of it right now.

(I really need to start putting my questions and things into one post LOL)

Its all done by actors. Its very good. Nothing like that horrible "Man In The Mirror" Movie. It's so long because it literally follows from the days when Joe and Kathrine met up until the Victory Tour. Plus commercials and such I guess.

Thanks, not too sure about the Joe and Katherine meeting up bit, I can't see it being too interesting, I imagine it was just a regular relationship.

It's a really good movie, and I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that is was based on Katherine's book. So it's actually factual and it doesn't go by what tabloids and stuff, there were a couple of parts that were dramatized (when Katherine confronts Joe about cheating). But it was really good for a TV movie. The kid that plays Michael is adorable!!!!

I'll try to get it done tomorrow then. I don't know how to tape when I'm not home, so if my husband and I are up to it, we'll go to church earlier than we planned. If not, then I'll keep watching out for the movie and then taping it. I've looked for it in stores and can't find it, or else I'd buy you it and mail it, but I can't do that.

If you want me to tape it for you too, I will but it will be a while. I'm not sure when it will come on next. I forgot it's on youtube though. Anyway if you feel comfortbable pming me your address then whenever it's on next I will try to tape it and get the commercials out of there. That is if you have a vcr player.

I have Dish Network and it's coming on tomorrow at 11:30 (central time) on VH1 classics. That's the only time for the next week.

Thank you. I'm not sure if I'll get to tape it tomorrow for Adore. I thought maybe MichaelFan1 would want it taped but I think they said they wouldn't want to watch a long movie all at once. So I'll just do it for Adore, sometime.

I'm sorry to say I wasn't able to tape it today because we didn't go to church early. Hubby was still sleeping. Like I said I don't know how to set it up beforehand to tape. It will be on again sometime and hopefully I will be home to tape it commercial free for you.
 
They showed it here, too, last weekend and the weekend before it (in two parts). Nice movie :yes:
 
Finally brought this on DVD.. I used to watch it every day when I was a kid I wore out my VHS copy lol I had such a huge crush on Alex and Jason (the two boys who shared the role as young michael)
 
Too painful to watch now, used to get all excited but thinking about the guy who plays adult MJ and now the real MJ both being dead, going to take years if ever before i can watch that movie again :cry:

The movie is awfully long but wonderful. :) I have watched it 4 or 5 times. The resemblances are uncanny in a few shots.
