September 10th, 2001:
Michael performed the second of two sold-out shows in Madison Square Garden to celebrate his 30th year as a solo artist. Musical artist's young and old came together to commemorate Michael, and he himself performed a hit-filled set.

Quote of the Day
:
"Each song is a child I nourish and give my love to. But even if you have never written a song, your life is a song. How can it not be?"

Hope you're all well. :)

Thank you for the video... I'm really loving the "Today In HIStory" threads =)

Thank you Tom :)

30th Anniversary Concert has a very special place in Mj HIStory and our hearts

Its very remarkable that almost every day we can count something significant MJ
did or achieved in his lifetime. He was that amazing. Im so appreciative of this thread

Those were really the days... I remember how hard the wait was for the upcoming "Invincible", and then the next day the terrorist attacks. Thank you for posting the clip Tom!

Waw that was super; thanks guys!!! Randy really pushed Michael hard there.

I never could figure that out. It looked to me like randy was addlibing OPP into the song and upstaging MJ Then
when MJ went over to him he pushed him and said "I got This" or somthing like that. I didnt like it whatever it was

He said, "Gone baby, Gone." I love that part of the show. MJ looked like he was going to beat the stew out of Randy. So hilarious. Tantamount to Slash not wanting to get his butt off of the stage.

Thanks for posting Tom!!!!

^but the scene with Randy was real, and not staged right?

It looked real to me. Although, I know that it's authenticity is debated. :D

^Someone who went on both days might be able to tell. If it was an act, it would have been done on both shows since Michael had a tendency to repeat as he did with the Slash tiff.
