~JULY 28~
1979
‘Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough’/‘I Can’t Help It’ by Michael Jackson, the first single from his début solo album, ‘Off The Wall,’ released for CBS/Epic this month, enters the Pop singles chart at number 87.
1989
Michael becomes the newest claymation member of the Raisin Family by appearing in their new TV commercial called Michael Raisin. Michael’s speaking voice is used in the ads, but his singing voice on the song, ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’ cannot be used because of his exclusive contract with Pepsi. Michael agrees to lend his image to the commercial after working with the claymation creator on his Moonwalker video. Michael receives $25,000 for his contribution, which he donates to charity. [Videos @ the end]
2004
Accompanied by a large entourage of security guards and a female friend, Michael goes shopping at Memorial City Mall in Houston, Texas. Seemingly in good spirits, he signs autographs for bystanders. Raymone Bain states that he was there, “on business, and just decided to drop by the mall”. [Video @ the end]
