Today in Michael Jackson History January 30th

HISTORICAL DATES

1968 - The Jackson 5's very first single "Big Boy" from Steeltown Records was released. It is the earliest known studio recording of Michael Jackson and his brothers, cut in Chicago in 1967. The song was neither a critical nor commercial success, but that was the brothers first record. From here, it seemed, anything might be possible. It would have been a very memorable moment when they gathered around the radio to hear the broadcast for the first time. Michael later recalled: " When it was over, we all laughed and hugged one another. We felt we had arrived. This was an amazing time for us as a family. I can still feel the excitement when I think back on it."

1971 - "Mama's Pearl" by The Jackson 5 enters the Billboard US Top 100 Singles chart, where it will peak at No 2.

Oh that court video breaks your heart. Just so so sad.

Love the way Michael touched Diana's hand when she won.
