I am a little bit worried, when I bought my ticket at ticketmaster.co.uk they asked me for my first name, I filled in Johan.

But then I read the following on their webpage: '
Enter the credit card billing address and name exactly as it appears on your credit card statement.'

On my creditcard statement it just says J.B. (my initials which stand for Johannes Bernardus), so I am confused. Did I need to fill in J.B. as First Name? I hope this does not get me into trouble (e.g. cancellation of tickets).

I don't know how a First Name appears on a person's credit card statement in the U.K., maybe no initials so you will probably not have the problem I described above. But it's vague, for example on seetickets.com they just ask for your initials which is much clearer.

Note: I did get a confirmation e-mail and the money has already been deducted from my bank account.

I just searched the FAQ on ticketmaster. I found the following question which is a bit similiar to mine.

trnsp.gif
QuestionI accidentally spelt my name wrong when ordering tickets. Is that a problem?

trnsp.gif
AnswerIf you have entered your name incorrectly when making a booking this will not have any effect on the validity of your tickets. However, if your tickets are to be collected at the box office you should contact us by clicking the "Ask a Question" feature above so that we may update your information.

Here is another question that might be helpfull to people that might have the same concern as I have.

trnsp.gif
QuestionWhat do you mean by Billing Address?

trnsp.gif
AnswerThe "Billing Address" is the address where your card issuer sends your statements. Ticketmaster will only dispatch to this address for reasons of security and we perform regular checks, matching the name and address with the credit card used, in order to lessen the chances of fraud to the customer and ourselves as a company.

we perform regular checks, matching the name and address with the credit card used-------
This part worries me a little bit, maybe I could still get in trouble?

Hi Johan :) . I think you should be fine because like you noted you received a confirmation email and the payment has been taken from your account. Therefore the order has been accepted.

The part where it states that Ticketmaster performs regular checks matching the name and address with the credit card used is not a problem as you passed the checks they performed as they accepted your order.

To be cautious, all you need to do is telephone your credit card provider just to inform them that you made the relevant transaction and to tell them to ensure that they fully authorise the transaction and not deny it at a later point in time. Obviously, if you are collecting the tickets from the box office, you would also need to do as Ticketmaster advised by using the “ask a question” feature.

In future, it would be advisable to always try to enter your name exactly as it tells you to do. In this case, if you had not been rushed to secure the tickets, it would have been better if you had entered J as your first name (assuming Bernardus is your middle name) followed by your surname as it is exactly spelt on your credit card statement :) .

your order was accepted, i wouldnt worry about it.

i aso filled in my husbands first name (mamoudou) when his creditrcard mentions m.d. (mamoudou dialo).
The money was taken and i have received a confirmation as well.
